(A/n: Professor Calculus everybody! A scientist who's witnessed fellow scientists falling into the hands of a dangerous curse and decides it's a good idea to borrow the bringer of the curse's jewelry! But at least it goes well with his coat! I'm sorry, I do like the professor but I'm pretty sure his ears weren't the only thing damaged in the explosion. Enjoy!)

Night Terror.

Malory POV:

"The curse of Rascar Capac has come true..." Tintin repeated in disbelief as we stared at the newest and last victim of the crystal balls.

"This doesn't make sense! No one can get in or out! Every single entrance is guarded! Unless..." Inspector Chambers' voice died down as ran out of the room and we followed him. He reached the window in the study and checked the lock.

"No, the shutters are locked from the inside." He informed us before opening it and looking down at one of the policemen, "You there! Have you seen anything?"

"No Sir! Not a thing!" The policeman replied.

"This absolutely beats me!" Chambers said.

"Look!" Tintin cried, "Rascar Capac's jewels disappeared!"

He was right! The shattered cabinet was now completely empty.

. . .

Doors and windows were locked but the attacker definitely was in Tarragon's room and in the study... Inspector Chambers was at the entrance and the other policeman was by the window...

The dream... He was on the roof in the dream...

The ball of fire...

"The fireplace!" I cried in realization and turned to see Snowy barking in it and looking up.

"A rope!" I said as Tintin and I rushed there.

"Malory's right! Someone came down the chimney!" Tintin said as we looked up through it.

When Snowy suddenly tugged on the rope sharply.

Coughing from my boyfriend and I filled the room as we both jumped out of the chimney, covered in soot.

"Quick! We've gotta check the roof!" Tintin said as we started wiping ourselves.

"Check the roof! Search the grounds! Whoever it is couldn't have gotten far!" Inspector Chambers called out through the window again as everyone around the buildings drew out their guns and started walking back while looking up at the roof.

"THERE HE IS!" I yelled, noticing a movement behind them all, he probably tried to use the momentum no one was looking but forgot we were still watching his direction.

I squinted my eyes, trying to get a better look at him as Inspector Chambers aimed at him.

'POW!' 'POW!' 'POW!'

"Got him!" Tintin cheered when the third blow caught him since there weren't any trees to protect him then and while everyone started running to the entrance, I lingered a second longer to try and see him again.

No One POV:

Tintin leapt over the stairs railings into the forest, determined to find the culprit. He noticed a minute later that Malory stayed behind but decided to let her, trusting her decision and admittedly happy to have her away from possible danger.

Malory in the meantime, squinted her eyes again, trying to see who he was under the hat and his jacket.

By the time she got used to the darkness enough, she only managed to catch a glimpse of his face before he was gone.
