Rivers of Blood and Tears.
Tintin POV:
I groaned when the leader of the group who caught me landed another punch on me. I couldn't fight back only because his two friends held me down. Though, they didn't have to do much since I already pretty weak due to the beat up they've given me up until now so only one of them took over.
"So, you thought you could steal from us, little brat? Think again." The leader taunted them and from the two others' cheers, I caught his name to be Allan.
"I found this basket here. And I know it was for anyone to take, not just you!" I sneered back.
"Wrong yet again, Boy. Every month it shows up here and every month we take it. That's how it is and always will be."
"No, he's right. I left this basket for whoever comes across it first and I clearly don't remember addressing it to bullies like you!" Our attention snapped over to the new voice. Stepping forward while loading the shotgun was a girl around my age, "Maybe you got it every month but this time you just happened not to be so lucky. And I don't take kindly towards sore losers. Now let him go!"
Wow, how brave she is! We all stayed quiet for a few minutes before the three crooks started laughing and I couldn't help but glare up at them.
"Well well, so you're the one who leaves us the gifts, huh? Well, now that we've officialy met, how about handing us the rest of your rations? Seems like you've more than you let out, now that's just selfish." Allan said while getting closer to the girl and I tried to move, afraid of what he might do to her but she quickly aimed the shotgun at him, the end of the barrel just meeting his chest.
"Not another move except for releasing him." She warned and Snowy came into view, growling next to her. Good ol' Snowy, so he brought her here!
"Or what? You'll shoot me? I assume you've probably shot a few zombies but do you really want to add an actual living person to this list?" He asked with a smug smirk and I could see calculating look on her face.
"This person won't be so living in a few seconds." She finally retorted and in a swift move, fired a shot in the air, for a second scaring him that she actually did it before realizing what she did.
And he panicked even more at the sound of growls coming from far away but getting closer to us.
"Let's get out of here!" He yelled and started retreating his steps, "Leave the boy!"
The air got knocked out of my lungs as they suddenly dropped me and I collapsed as they all ran off. Snowy ran to me and I lifted my head to look at him, "Snowy..."
Moving the shotgun to her back, the girl rushed to me too.
"Come on!" She said as she helped me up and let me lean against her, "We have to get out of here quick, try to help me, okay?"
I managed to slightly nod and we ran off somewhere before the zombies came.
Waking up, the first thing I was greeted with was pain, a very strong one and I couldn't help but groan and grab onto my aching head, feeling a bandage on the spot as I opened my eyes and rose up, seeing that I was no longer outside but rather inside a ran down store.
My eyes immediately landed on the girl who saved me, patting Snowy's head as it seemed that she just brought him food, judging by the full bowl that was set between them.
As if feeling my eyes on her, she turned her head to me crossed gazes with me.
"Oh you're awake!" She cheered, it was a bit odd at first to hear her talking so calmly and not firm like she did back there, it suited her more, "How are you feeling?"
