A savior or an attempted murderer?
Malory POV:
After the meeting with Mitsuhirato, Tintin and I had so many thoughts and questions in our heads that we decided without a word to get back to the hotel on foot instead of a rickshaw.
"I hope this is the way back to the hotel, guys." Tintin suddenly said as we finally looked up from the ground, realizing that we don't actually know how to get back to the hotel and stopped.
No One POV:
Unknown to the two heroes, the man who watched them walking into Mitsuhirato's shop followed them all the way and he was now peeking at them from behind the corner.
"Oh-oh. I think we're lost." Tintin finally confessed and Malory sighed.
"Maybe Snowy can sniff our way back?" She suggested.
The sound of a car engine starting to work made the man peek out more as he saw the heroes resuming their walk and a green car across the street started speeding up when they got closer.
Malory POV:
"HEY!" Tintin and I exclaimed in surprise when the someone tackled us to the ground and before we could try escaping a bundle of bullets flew above our heads and hit the wall behind us, making me scream in fright as I squinted my eyes in fright.
Everything stopped at once and we heard the car that shot us continuing down the road but we stayed like this for a few moments with Tintin protecting Snowy and I while some plaster fell from the wall on us like snow and we finally opened our eyes, gasping for the air that got knocked out of us.
"He's gone!" Tintin exclaimed when we rose up and realized that whoever saved us disappeared just as fast as he showed up.
"Hey! Whoever you are, wait!" I called out as we jogged towards the alley behind us, where we assumed he came out off but no one was there.
We soon gave up and Tintin sighed in defeat before looking at me as I dusted myself.
"Are you alright, Malory?" He asked.
"Yeah... but let's not do this again any time soon, okay?" I asked.
"You're shaking." He pointed out and I stopped dusting myself to see that my hands were indeed trembling.
"Sorry... It just surprised me... if it wasn't for our savior, we would've been..." I didn't want to finish the sentence.
"Hey! We're okay, nothing happened to us. Nothing will happen to you while I'm around, okay?" He told me, putting his hand on my shoulder and I smiled at him weakly.
"Right back at you..." I mumbled and he smiled.
"Come on, let's get ourselves a rickshaw."
It was evening when Tintin and I finally came back to our hotel room and we were welcomed back by a letter from the Maharajah...
"I still don't get it... I'm sure this man knew something bad was going to happen before the shooting! And I'm pretty sure I saw him by Mitsuhirato's shop... I think he was following us, Tintin." I told Tintin as I finally rolled over in the sofa and looked at him.
"I think you're right, Malory. And I think it's not the last of them." He said before reading out loud the letter from India.
"'Please come at once! My son and I are in grave danger. Signed, the Maharajah.' So Mitsuhirato was telling the truth." Tintin said as he rubbed his chin.
"I guess... But something here doesn't feel right to me; If Mitsuhirato knew we're needed there, then why did he call us here in the first place, saying that he needs help?" I asked, starting to mess with the ends of my hair.
