The Arumbayas.

Malory POV:

Tintin and I yawned and stretched- Well, He mostly stretched, as we got out of the tent.

"Good morning, Malory." He greeted.

"Morning, Tintin. You know? Just because I'm a little disabled right now, doesn't mean I can't do my duties." I pointed out as I rubbed my eyes.

"What do you mean?" He asked in confusion.

"Why didn't you wake me up for my watch?" I asked, getting a little confused as well.

"Me? I thought Caraco waked you up first!" He replied in surprise which made me look at him in surprise and realize that speaking of which...

Where is Caraco?

"Caraco? CARACO?" Tintin called out as we looked around before looking over the canoe.

"His things are gone! And so is he, I should've known, YOU COWARD!" I said the last part loudly so if there was a little chance that he's close, he'll hear it.

"Well, looks like we face the Arumbayas alone, Malory and Snowy." Tintin said as he put his hat back on.

"Are you sure you can row the canoe alone?" I asked as I put my hat as well and sat in the canoe.

"Come on, Malory, have some faith in me." He asked with a sly smile as he sat down, taking one of the oars.

"Who said I don't?" I teased back with the same smile before turning my attention back to the front.

Tintin POV:

Good thing she turned around or else she would've seen me blushing.

For almost all day long we sailed down the river.

"We've gotta be in Arumbaya country by now." I pointed out.

"Wait, what's that sound?" Malory suddenly asked and a loud noise reached my ears as well.

Snowy whimpered and I suddenly realized that the stream was getting stronger and faster as we turned in the bend.

"Oh no, rapids!" I exclaimed in horror when I saw all the small waterfalls and rocks in front of us and started changing rowing left and right alternatively.

"Quick! Give me the other oar!" Malory asked and I hurried to throw her that, mutely deciding that I'm rowing to our left and she's to the right.

Snowy started barking in fear.

"Hang on, Snowy!" I asked and just a second later, I was splashed and muffled by some water.

One rapid...

Two rapids...

"AHHHHHHHH!" Malory and I screamed when the canoe got out of control and crashed into a rock, sending the three of us into the river.

Malory POV:

I hurried to shot my head back to the surface and coughed some water.

"Great Snakes!" I heard Tintin shouting a few meters in front of me and I saw that we were heading to a waterfall.

I tried to swim ashore but not only the stream was too fast and strong, but my stupid shoulder was giving me a hard time.

"Oh no..." I mumbled when I saw the waterfall in front of me.

"-AHHHHHHHH- GOTCHA!" My scream as I started to fall was cut short when someone grabbed my healthy hand and stopped my from falling, making me look up to see Tintin smiling at me, which made me smile back in relief.
