Señor Oliveira de Figueroa!
No One POV:
Tintin tensed.
"Um, what?" He stammered as they stopped walking.
"How did you know I used to wear pigtails as a kid? I don't recall ever telling you that..." His girlfriend asked in confusion.
"Well..." He was happy that the sunglasses were covering his eyes, which were trying to avoid looking at her glance that soon turned from confused to suspicious.
"Liz told me at her and Andrew's wedding." He quickly let out before he could stop himself and think of a better excuse.
"She did? When?" Malory inquired, trying to recall a conversation.
"When you were at the washroom. I went to congratulate her and we ended up having a little chat about our relationships. Even I don't remember how we got talk about your pigtails but we did." Tintin wanted to slap himself silly for this stupid lie. He was sure she'll not buy it but he it was his best shot.
But to his surprise. Malory started blushing heavily and rub her eyes.
"Please tell me that was all she said. Ugh! If there's anything more embrrassing than parents telling childhood stories of their children, it's the children's best friends telling them!"
Tintin couldn't believe his luck. The fact that Malory and Liz were also childhood friends completely slipped his mind!
"Not that I can recall. Why? Anything I should know?" He asked with a grin, jumping on the chance to make her forget his slip up.
"No! Nothing..." She jumped but her blush told him otherwise, "Let's just go find Müller..."
Did he just manage to make her emberrassed for the first time? Without an intention to?
The thought made him grin smugly.
"So there is something... I should remember to ask Liz next time I see her." He casually made a note to himself and even with the sunglasses, he could see her eyes widening.
"You wouldn't dare!" She hissed.
"Would I not? Really?~" He asked, still smiling smugly.
"You do not want to go down that road, Augustin." The look she gave him just then plus how dangerous and low her voice turned to instentely made him regret teasing her any further and once he broke the character of know-it-all, Malory broke hers with a little smile that soon became a full on laughter.
"You should've seen your face!" Her laughter made him ease up slightly, "Don't worry, Tintin. Rosita told me enough embrrassing childhood stories about you that using them would just be cruel by that point."
Unbelievable! Even though he had the upper hand, Malory managed to put it down in a matter of seconds!
He chuckled to himself. He should've seen that coming.
But while resuming their walk, his chuckle turned into a frown of thought. Unintetionally, he found out that the girl he only recently started recalling from his past and Malory had something in common. Something told him that it was also not the only thing.
It drove him mad to be honest. Ever since those memories surfaced, he's found himself being shaken to reality by Malory, who's been confused as to why he was looking at her so intensely like she's some kind of an unsolved puzzle.
Well, she was. If she is who he theorized to be.
He'd always brush it off as him just admiring his amazing girlfriend (Which was true as well), but at these rare times when he wanted to bring up his repressed memories and ask, he would end up tensing and simply squeak that it was nothing.
