Tightrope.

Malory POV:

It's been two days since we set on to the Temple of the Sun and Snowy couldn't have been happier.

"Okay, Snowy. We are coming. We're coming!" Tintin reassured with a laugh as the giddy doggy skipped up the mountain, turning a corner.

"This must be the longest walk he's ever taken, and that says something." I smiled as we turned the corner and he barked at us from a little perch higher up he's found.

"Hehe, we see you little rascal! We'll be right there." I reassured as I looked up, covering my eyes, "This sun is something else..."

I dared to look a little higher when suddenly a something blocked the sun. A shadow loomed over Snowy and I heard him whimper.

"SNOWY!" Tintin and I shouted at the top of our lungs as our sweet dog got picked up by the bird.

"A condor has taken him!" Zorrino exclaimed as we watched it taking him away.

"He'll be eaten alive! Maybe I can scare it off." Tintin said as he pulled up the riffle and cocked it ready.

"No wait! He might drop Snowy!" I warned, resting my hand on the weapon to make sure he won't fire before looking up, "Just wait..."

Finally, the conder has dropped Snowy on a very high ledge before landing close by, probably where his nest was.

"NOW!" I ordered and Tintin shot twice.

The condor took off.

"There! Snowy is safe." Tintin reassured before looking at me, "For the time being, but we've gotta work fast."

"Right!" I agreed as we grabbed a rope from one of the llamas.

"What're you going to do?" Captain asked as he watched us running back to the wall of the mountain where the ledge was.

"I'm going to get Snowy down from there." Tintin explained as he started climbing up.

"And I'm going to make sure these two actually get down from there." I explained as I climbed up as well.

"Be careful!" Captain called after us as we groaned while climbing up.

"Ugh, this is really hard!" I mumbled, remembering yet again how much I hate rock climbing.

"Just don't look down and be careful, okay? This is quite the drop." He pointed out and I stopped to give him a very dirty look to make him realize what he's just said, "Oh, sorry!"

I rolled my eyes, softening a little bit before looking up again.

"SNOWY!" I called out and Tintin stopped to look up as well in hope.

Silence... Did the condor come back when we weren't looking? ...Or were we too late...?

"I hope he's okay." Tintin said in terror as we hurried the rest of the climb, finally reaching the top and pulling ourselves up, "Snowy?!"

And there he was, munching on a bone of a previous victim, not even knowing that he might've turned into one if we weren't here.

The irony made us chuckle as we got on to the ledge and he rolled off of his back to greet us with a tail wag.

"Haha! Well, hello to you too." Tintin sarcastically remarked at the oblivious dog.

"Is he okay?" Captain shouted at us from his place all the way down. We stood up and waved, holding Snowy, making Captain and Zorrino sigh in relief before Captain waved back at us with his hat in hand.
