Malory POV:

"Be sure to have it back by sunset, now." The sailor who landed us his boat reminded us from his spot on the port.

"Right!" Tintin said, starting the motor.

"Where are you two making for this bright day?" He asked.

"Oh, we just thought we might check out that island." Tintin replied nonchalantly, pointing over his shoulder.

And sure enough:

"THE BLACK ISLAND? Not in my boat, you don't! I'll never see her afloat again!" He paniced.

"Alright then. So how much to make her our boat?" I asked as Tintin looked through his small satchel before paying the confused man and we took off just as MacGregor joined his side.

I could see his concerned face and managed to read his lips before we got too far away.

"Another away to their doom..." And his words, even if I didn't hear them, managed to make me gulp slightly in dread before looking into the ocean.

About an hour later, and the Black Island was presented to us in its' full glory.

Crows were circling around the highest tower.

After helping me out of the boat, Tintin tied her up to one of the rocks and we proceeded to climb up into the Craig Dhui's castle.

"Looks deserted." Tintin said as entered the castle's grounds.

"Come on, Snowy, we'll scout the island from the tower!" I called for our friends, who barked and followed us to the circualr set of stairs that seemed to be leading up.

A crow screeched in surprise once he saw and flew away, joining its' flock.

"WOW! What a view!" Tintin said as we looked down at the waters from the tower.

I whistled.

"That's high!" I agreed.

Suddenly, a growl echoed through the island and Tintin and I switched looks.

"No, that was not my stomach..." I shut down his hopes and we both gasped as something black, big and mad emerged from the stairs we just came from.

Snowy ran to the side, climbing on one of the curves in tower.

A giant gorilla.

"Easy, Boy..." Tintin tried to appease it, the shakiness in his voice as clear as Muller's and the farmer's accents.

The monster roared straight into our faces, sending Tintin's hat away and blowing my hair back.

A sudden chain of barks made me look at Snowy's general direction.

"SNOWY!" Tintin and I yelled, seeing our beloved dog dangling from edge with his two front legs.

"Hold on, Snowy!"

"Time out, Evolutionary Cousin, Man's best friend's in danger and in my opinion at the moment, friends before family!"

We attempted to get Snowy without taking our eyes off of the ape but it seemed to only anger him and he charged.

I ducked just in time but Tintin had no choice but to run around, giving me time to act.

"SNOWY!" I yelled again as I leapt and grabbed him by his hind legs just as he let go. Only to scream when I myself started dropping and only managed to stop myself, using my ankles, "Not again! TINTIN! I don't care if I have a skirt and whether you'd look down or not, GET US OUT OF HERE!"
