(A/n: Yes, I'm well aware that the best part about Tintin is that we love him even without knowing anything about him. But the best part about it is that we can also theorize his past life like I did in the Red-Haired Couple book and would like to try imagining his childhood. And that's exactly what I'm going to do. This three part short will describe and be cannon for this book as Tintin's childhood. Also, I'd like to apologize, I couldn't find out who created this fanart, let me know if you know and whoever did this, know IT'S AMAZING! And little note, everyone here will basically be speaking French, so speech will be yet again like this. Enjoy!)
The Lonely Student
No One POV:
"So the great Napoleon tried to blah blah blah." The teacher's words quickly vanished from the boy's thoughts as he yawned quietly and did his best not to fall asleep.
It wasn't that the subject didn't interest him and he didn't mean to be rude. It was simply because he's already learned this in a history book he had read once!
He couldn't take it anymore! He promised, he knew! But It would better if he'd do that rather than disturbing the class by talking of just falling asleep in front of the teacher like that.
Lowering his head on his arms and glancing at the teacher carefully, he slowly but surely opened his latest book, which laid there, tempting him to open and continue his reading since class started.
Steadly sinking into the text, his mind was floating away to distant regions.
Flying to a jungle...
Or sailing in the sea towards the pyramaids in the desert... Sunrises... Sunsets...
"Ahem." The throat clearing was so calm but it made him jump in his seat, the class was immediately filled with laughter and he felt his cheeks lighting up at being caught.
"You know how it goes, Mr. Tin. Hand it over." Reluctantly, and very much emarrassed, he shut his book and handed it to the teacher, who took it and turned back to her table, not bothering to subdue the class's laughter and he felt his cheeks flaring up with every second, fighting a stubborn tear that tried to slip as he did his best not to make eye contact with anyone while wishing for this to be over already-
"Stop it! That's enough!"
It wasn't the demanding tone and the scary volume of the voice that made everyone silent and turn the attnetion away from him. It was the fact that this was the first time they heard the owner speak the foreign language intrigued them.
Nontheless, the piercing glare she threw at some of the kids made the message clear and everyone grumbled quietly at her audacity to silence them when she's only here for maybe a week. Some even stuck their tounges out at her. But none bothered or dared saying a word to her.
Yes, she was new and won't be staying for long. From what he understood, she was here with her parents on a business trip and they didn't want her to miss school in the meantime. What was the point for it with the language barrier was beyone his understanding, especially since she was two years younger than everyone and put here only because this was the only class that had a vacant place, but he didn't bother looking too much into it, same as he did with almost everything at school.
The only time his interest was caught by her was the same time everyone decided not to mess with her. In their first recess with her, when one of his classmate pulled on one of her pigtails and before he could've stepped in to help her she swiftly turned around and kicked him in his knee so hard that he screamed and whimpered like a baby, all while she was glaring at him with her sharp eyes like she does right now...
