Mikha's POV:
It was Monday again, and currently break time. Normally, I’d be in the ‘L room’ signing papers, but today was an exception. I had finished most of the work last time, which caused me to come home late that day.
I found myself aimlessly wandering around campus until my feet led me to a familiar spot—the exact place where Aiah had pulled me out of the crowd by the parking lot.
The gym...
"So this is where Ate Colet and Gwen train huh." I peek at the window of the door to see if someone's inside the gym, but luckily, there's none.
I was about to open the door but it was locked, so I snatch out the card that I always use to have an access and to unlock the door. I went inside of the gym. Buti nalang break time, walang makakakita sa akin.
I closed my eyes. I miss this. The feeling of joy everytime you play with your teammates. Training with them. Doing punishments. The trill whenever I'm in the service line. Communication inside the court. The fulfillment of having a teammates with one dream together. The hardship. The cheers. The trophies. Lastly, my supporters which are Mommy, Ate, and Kuya.
I open my eyes and look at my right side. I saw a ball cart full of volleyballs. Without hesitation, I went near it and grabbed one.
I walked towards the service line, dribbling the ball eight times. "Arghh, I miss that sound." I muttered to myself. Thankfully, the net was already set up. I tossed the ball into the air, preparing myself. My eyes locked onto the blue and yellow ball, focused and ready. Then, I jumped and struck it, making quick and firm contact to ensure it didn’t spin.
Suddenly....
The door opens, and iniluwa nito ang isang taong ikinagulat ko.
Someone: "Wow! Mikhs! Ganda ng float serve mo! Paturooo." Manghang sabi nito.
"H-how did y-you get here?! Break time ngayon. W-what are you d-doing here, Sheena?" Takang tanong ko rito.
Sheena: "Hehe sorry na uwu." She stated, touching both of her pointer fingers above her chest.
"Will you consider joining the team? Kasi sa nakikita ko, gusto mo. Gusto mo pa." She said that made me let out a deep breath.
"I....It's hard, Shee." Tingin na nagsasabing ituloy ko ang sasabihin ko "It reminds me of Mommy, Ate and Kuya.
She asked and I don't know why I am always anticipating what she will say, or maybe because we almost have the same pain, the same grief.
"Yes. They were always happy to support me every game because volleyball is one of my happiness, noong buhay pa sila."
Sheena: "Sa tingin mo, are they still happy na itinigil mo yung happiness mo na naging happiness din nila?" I froze in place. Her words, it hit me. That question of Shee. Tagos na tagos. Bigla naman ito tumalikod. "Swerte mo Mikhs. "T-the day a-after ng pagkamatay ni M-mommy, first ever dance competition ko.
