Chapter 18

First I want to apologize for the chapter but I needed the interaction with the family to jump to Alex's birthday.

I think I never imagined that I could be stabbed for defending someone, but I'm not complaining, especially if that someone is Scarlett. I will do anything if it comes to defending that beautiful woman.

I slowly started to wake up since I started to hear noises in my room.

"Oh no" I said in my mind remembering that my family was arriving today and that they were probably the ones making noise.

I kept my eyes closed since I didn't want to be invaded by questions and I could notice that Scarlett was no longer by my side.

"So che sei sveglia, tesoro." My mother said. (I know you're awake, honey)

I sighed heavily and opened my eyes. My mother was sitting across from me with a magazine in her hand. I looked around the room and saw my father, my older sister Anna, Dante and Sofia looking at me from the window.

I couldn't help but smile when I saw them. I started pacing the room again and frowned when I noticed that Scarlett wasn't there.

"She went to get a coffee" My sister said with a strong Italian accent and a mischievous smile.

My mother put the magazine aside and got up from her chair walking towards me. She sat next to me and with one of her hands she took mine, while the other rested on my cheek.

"Come ti senti?" She asked caressing my cheek. (How you feel?)

"Bene, gli antidolorifici hanno prevenuto qualsiasi tipo di dolore" I said smiling at her. (Fine, the painkillers have prevented any kind of pain)

My mother placed a kiss on my forehead and she smiled too.

"I'm so glad to hear that" She said softly also with a strong accent "But don't scare us like that again."

"Tua madre ha ragione" My father said coming to my side "When Sofía called us to tell us that you were stabbed, that almost gave us a heart attack" (Your mother is right)

My father came over to leave a kiss on my forehead.

I told you forehead kisses run in the family.

"I bet you thought you were a superhero saving your girlfriend" My sister Anna said laughing.

"She's not my girlfriend" I said sighing.

"Ancora" Dante said giving a high five to Sofia and Anna (Yet)

"Sono felice che tu stia bene sorellina" Anna said as she ran her hand through my hair. (I'm glad you're okay sis)

"Scarlett mi ha detto cos'è successo" My mother said suddenly "E sarò onesto con te, sono ancora arrabbiato per quello che ti ha fatto, ma sono felice che vi siate di nuovo insieme. In questo momento avete entrambi bisogno l'uno dell'altro, specialmente di lei" (Scarlett told me what happened) (And I'll be honest with you, I'm still upset about what she did to you, but I'm glad you have each other again. Right now you both need each other, especially her)

"Yes, Alex" Anna said "You both went through something traumatic, but Scarlett..." She sighed "Scarlett is going to need you a lot right now"

"I know and I will do everything in my power to help her and keep her happy" I said giving them a small smile.

"But don't forget about yourself, honey" My father said and I nodded. The door to my room opened and I watched as Lizzie and Scarlett walked in.

"I hope Andrea has already scolded you for how stupid you were" Lizzie said pointing at my mother.
