Finally it was time to go home. Scarlett was next to me waiting for Dr. Miller to come and remove the bandage from my eyes.

"Are you nervous?" Scarlett asked taking my hand.

"Yes" I answered letting out a sigh "Can I ask you a question?" I asked with my head down.

"Of course" She answered softly.

"If I go blind, will you..." I sighed nervously "Will you stay with me?" I asked still with my head down "I'll understand if you don't want to have that burden in your life and you want to step aside, but I'd like to know now so I don't..." I started to ramble.

"Honey, stop" Scarlett said placing her hand on my cheek "Raise your head, please" She said again and I gently raised it "You won't go blind and if that happens believe me I won't go anywhere" She said softly "I love you and you are one of the best things that has ever happened to me and I am not going to let you go. We are in this together"

I felt how she leaned towards me leaving a soft kiss on my lips.

"Oh, sorry" I heard Dr. Miller say "I'm here to take Alex's bandage off"

"I'll give you space" Scarlett said in a dry tone which made me giggle.

"Alex, I'm going to take off your blindfold and after that I need you to open your eyes very slowly" The doctor said and I nodded.

When she removed the bandage, I started to open my eyes. When I opened them completely I saw a little blurry and I noticed that the light in my room was a little dim. I started to look around the room and smiled when I noticed my girlfriend's blonde hair.

"There you are" I said smiling at her.

"Your eyes look great" The Doctor said making me bring my gaze to her.

Wow... She is. Wow.

"Is it normal that I see blurry?"I asked nervous.

"Yes, completely" She replied "In time you will get used to it again. But I recommend you wear sunglasses"

The doctor sat down next to me and she started looking at my eyes more closely.

"I want you to come at the end of the month" She said with her hands on the sides of my head "So we can verify that your vision returned to one hundred percent of it"

"Okay" I said gently.

"I'll do the paperwork to get you discharged so you can go home" She said softly.

Scarlett helped me change my clothes and handed me a pair of sunglasses while we waited for the doctor to come back.

"Are you ready?" Anna asked entering the room "Why are you wearing sunglasses?"

"We are waiting for Dr. Loving to come back" Scarlett answered "And the sunglasses are because she has to get used to the light"

"Dr. Loving?" Anna asked looking at me

"Scarlett is jealous of my Doctor" I said laughing.

We left the room to wait for the doctor and Scarlett took over carrying my wheelchair.

"We are ready" Said the doctor walking towards me "Here you have the papers" She said giving me a smile "in this bag you have some medications in case you have any kind of pain"

"Thank you" I said kindly.

"Take care and I'll see you at the end of the month" She said giving me a smile.

The Doctor walked away and we continued our way to the elevator. I glanced at my sister and she was trying to contain a laugh.

As we were about to turn down the hall I heard someone yell my name. Scarlett turned my chair and saw my doctor running towards me.
