Chapter 41

Scarlett POV

I was so tired that when our families left I immediately fell asleep.

I don't know how much time had passed, but I woke up to some soft whispers.

I opened my eyes slowly and I was scared when I didn't see Matteo by my side. I calmed down when I looked at the window where Alex was holding him in her arms and I realized that the whispers were coming from her mouth.

"You are my Sunshine, my only Sunshine" I heard Alex sing softly making my eyes fill with tears "You make me happy when skies are gray" Alex kept singing while rocking Matteo gently.

She walked over to the sofa where Rose was sleeping. She sat next to her and snuggled Matteo into her chest.

"You'll never know dear, how much I love you" She kept singing and I couldn't help but smile "Please don't take my Sunshine away"

Alex covered Rose with a blanket and then rubbed Matteo's back.

"You are the best mom in the world" I said making her look at me quickly.

"Hi, sleepyhead" She said with a smile "Did you sleep well?"

"Yeah, but waking up was the best I could do" I replied softly.

"Rose has been sleeping for a couple of hours and this little one" She said getting up from the sofa slowly to approach me "He woke up recently"

"He must be hungry" I said as she passed Matteo to me.

I uncovered my boob and the baby went quickly for his food.

"Hey, buddy" Alex said whispering but in a serious tone "You have limited membership for that, because those my friend, are mine"

"You're an idiot" I said holding back my fit of laughter.

"I'm just telling you the truth" She said approaching my lips to kiss them softly.

"I love you" I said when we separated.

"I love you more, amore" She said kissing the tip of my nose.

"Hello, Motherf...." Lizzie tried to say as she entered the room.

"Shhhhhh" Alex and I said at the same time.

"I'm sorry" She said embarrassed.

"Oh my god" Robbie said covering his eyes "I will come when you stop breastfeeding"

I couldn't help but laugh at Robbie's reaction.

"Congratulations girls" Lizzie said excitedly "He's beautiful"

"Obviously, just look who his mothers are" Alex said earning a punch from Lizzie "Stop hitting me or I won't give you our gift"

Lizzie looked at both of us confused and Alex handed her a package that was in the closet.

"Come on, open it" She said smiling.

Lizzie tore up the paper trying to be as quiet as possible and when she saw what was inside she started to cry.

"Son of a bitch" She said as she cried.

Lizzie turned the t-shirt that she had taken out of the package where it read 'Aunt Lizzie, will you be my godmother?'

"Of course I'm going to be the godmother of this beautiful creature" She said approaching Alex who wrapped her in a hug.

"Do you want to take him?" Alex asked when Matteo had already let go of my breast.

"Of course I do" Lizzie replied. "But doesn't he have to burp first?"

"You're the godmother, you're going to do great" Alex said, handing our little boy over.
