Chapter 13

Scarlett POV

These have been a horrible few days for me, but thanks to my close circle I have been able to cope.

Alex has been incredible and has not hesitated to show her kindness and affection to us. Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve anything she's been doing for me but every time I mention it to Lizzie she gives me a huge lecture.

Today was Monday and Lizzie had taken Rose to school. After leaving her, she returned to the penthouse and we settled on the couch with a cup of coffee each.

"Relax" Lizzie said suddenly "They'll be fine"

I was nervous. Alex and the boys were going to the house today with the real estate agent and I was afraid that they might run into Colin.

"I can't help it" I said letting out a sigh.

"Chris and Robbie are with her" She said assuring me "And well, I must say that Alex has the body to defend herself" She said looking at me with a flirtatious smile.

"Yes, you're right" I said laughing "But I can't help but worry"

"Has he called you again?" She asked this time seriously and I nodded.

"Every hour" I sighed.

Lizzie looked at me sadly.

"I feel like... I feel like I'm drowning" I said feeling my eyes fill with tears "This situation makes me sick. I feel bad because the only thing I am capable of is thinking about what Colin can do to me, my daughter, Alex or those close to me"

"Don't you want to put a restraining order on him?" She asked and I denied.

"I feel like that's going to make everything worse" I replied letting out a sob "Can we change the subject? Just thinking about him makes my stomach turn"

"Okay, let's talk about Alex" She said with a mischievous smile and I just rolled my eyes "You think I haven't noticed the looks you give each other"

"I don't know what you're talking about" I said drinking my coffee.

"Deny it all you want" She said laughing "But where there was fire, ashes remain"

"Do you think it's too soon if I try something?" I asked nervously. Lizzie looked at me and gave me a warm smile.

"It's never too soon when it comes to love, Scar" She said taking my hand "Despite everything that happened, you never stopped loving each other"

"Who never stopped loving each other?" A voice asked behind us that made us jump.

I turned around and saw Alex, Chris and Robbie.

"No, nothing" Lizzie said nervously "How did it go?"

"Good. Mary saw the place and according to her she said that it could be sold quickly, when we have cleaned everything of course" Alex replied sitting down next to me "I left a note for Mr. Jost informing him of the situation again"

"I'm glad you didn't run into him" I said placing my hand on Alex's knee.

She gave me a smile and we both got lost in each other's gaze until someone interrupted clearing his throat.

"What time do we have to go pick up Rose?" Chris asked.

"At 2:30" I replied looking at my watch. It was an hour and a half to pick up Rose.

"Okay, I have to go do some things and I'll pick her up" He said leaving a kiss on my head "See you later"

"We... We're going to have lunch with the twins... Yes with the twins" Lizzie said nervously taking Robbie's arm walking away quickly "See you tonight" She shouted as she closed the door.
