Chapter 11

Scarlett POV

I woke up with gentle caresses on my scalp. The delicate hand made me start to relax more and more. But that changed when I caught her perfume.

"Alex" I said scared getting up quickly from the position I was in.

"Hey, calm down" She said in a soft tone.

"What time is it?" I asked confused.

"It's almost 2 in the afternoon" She said with a delicate look.

"Y-you have to go" I said scared "Alex, please I need you to go"

"Scarlett, what's wrong?" She asked worried.

"Alex, please just go" I said walking to my desk to grab my cell phone "Shit, shit, shit"

"Scarlett, can you tell me what's going on?" She asked again.

"I forgot that Colin is coming to have lunch with me" I said without looking at her "Please Alex, just go"

"I won't leave after what he did to you" She said walking towards me "I'm not leaving you alone"

"Alex, just go" I said nervously "I don't need you"

I lied. I need her.

Alex's look of concern changed to one of sadness.

"Just go" I said curtly.

"Okay" She said walking to the door to leave my office.

I breathed a sigh of relief when Alex left. I didn't want her running into Colin, let alone him seeing her in my office.

I started to tidy up where I was sleeping and noticed a jacket.

"Fuck" I said when I saw that it was Alex's jacket.

"Hello darling" Colin said walking into my office. He approached me to leave a kiss on my lips and when he looked at what I had in my hand he tensed "Whose jacket is this?"

I said nothing.

"Was that freak here?" He asked annoyed.

"Scarlett" Kate said entering my office "Oh sorry, I didn't know you were busy"

Kate gave me a worried look, then she took her gaze to what I had in my hand and she understood.

"There it was" Kate said approaching to take the jacket "I've been looking for it all over the building"

Thank you Kate.

"It's yours?" Colin asked in a curt tone.

"Yeah, who else do you think it's from?" Kate asked laughing. "I thought I left it at the cafeteria"

"You left it here when you brought me my coffee" I said following Kate's game.

"Well, I won't bother you anymore" She said, giving Colin a fake smile.

When Kate left, Colin turned his head to stare at me.

"I hope you're not lying to me Scarlett" He said threateningly "I don't want to see that bitch near you"

Alex POV

Knock. Another knock. Another knock.

"What the fuck" I said letting out a groan. I took my phone and saw that it was 2:30 am.

Another knock. Another knock. Another knock. Another knock.

I got up quickly from my bed, went to the door and looked through the peephole.

Scarlett.

I quickly opened the door and I bit my bottom lip hard to hide a sob. Her face was bruised. I took Rose, who was asleep in her arms, and her bag.
