Somebody Else

Chapter 6

July 15, 2022.

Time has passed quickly, every time I felt that I was the same as before but something inside my head said that I wasn't. Something inside me kept saying that I was broken and that I was incapable of anyone loving me, that I am not enough. I was so aware of what was going through my head that I didn't hear my phone ring.

"Alex, qualcuno ti sta chiamando." Dante said snapping me out of my trance. (Alex, someone is calling you)

I took my phone, still lost in my thoughts and I saw the name that appeared on the screen, Harry.

*Phone call*

"How is my favorite Italian?" He asked excitedly.

"Well, you caught me off guard" I answered quickly "How's everything over there?"

"Fine, but I need to talk to you about something" He said in a serious tone "Alex, I need you to come back"

I felt that everything stopped around me. Going back to New York was not something that was in my plans.

"Alex, did you hear what I said?" Harry spoke again when he got no answer.

"Yes, yes... Why do you need me to come back?" I asked confused.

"We have some important projects that need your presence" He replied "Alex, you know that if it wasn't necessary I wouldn't ask you"

"Okay, I understand perfectly" I said in a soft tone "When do you need me to be there?"

"As soon as possible" He answered.

"Okay. But I need you to find me a place to live" I said laughing.

"Don't worry. I'll get you something as fast as possible" He said excitedly "See you soon mate!"

"See you soon buddy" I said ending the call.

*End phone call*

"Devi tornare indietro?" My brother asked and I nodded. (You have to go back?)

"Yes, Harry needs me" I answered sighing.

"Why does Harry need you?" Victoria asked walking into the kitchen. She sat down next to me and placed a kiss on my cheek.

Victoria and I started dating after what happened on my birthday. Even though we didn't have a label, everyone knew we were together.

"He needs my help with some important projects" I said sighing "And for that I have to go back to New York"

"I'm going with you" She said giving me a smile and I looked at her confused and impressed at the same time.

"Vi, but what will happen to your restaurant?" I asked.

"I trust that your brother can take care of it" She answered looking at Dante.

"Wait, what?" He asked excited. 

"I want you to take care of my restaurant" She said walking towards him to hug him "You are an incredible chef and I don't trust nobody else"

"Okay, that hurt" I said placing my hand on my heart.

"Alex, you know what I'm talking about" She said laughing peking my lips.

"Are you sure you want to go with me?" I asked nervously and she nodded.

"I've never been more sure of anything" She said, kissing me softly.

"Iugh, okay I'm leaving" Dante said making us laugh.
