Chapter 19

I was in my office, since I could finally move better. My wound has been healing perfectly and I could finally get back to my routine.

Scarlett goes to therapy twice a week and says it has worked well for her so far. Unfortunately we are still in fear as we have not idea about Colin's whereabouts.

I was finishing writing an email when the door to my office was flung open.

"Motherfucker" I said jumping in my chair bringing my hand to my chest "You almost scared me to death Anna"

"Sorry, not sorry" She said laughing "Are you ready?"

"I just have to send this email and we can go" I replied taking my eyes back to my computer screen "What do you have planned for today?"

"Cena nel tuo appartamento e poi andiamo a ballare" She answered sitting in the chair in front of me. (Dinner at your apartment and then we'll go dancing)

"Who the hell goes out dancing on a Monday?" I asked laughing.

"Us, dah" My sister replied as if it was obvious.

Arriving at my apartment the smell of food made my stomach growl. When I got to the living room I could see that Lizzie, Robbie, the twins, Harry, Chris, Victoria and of course Scarlett were already with my family.

"Happy Birthday darling" Scarlett said leaving a short kiss on my lips.

"Thank you beautiful" I said hugging her.

After hugging each one of them and thanking them for coming, we went to dinner.

My mom, my sisters, Lizzie, Scarlett, and Vic had taken it upon themselves to prepare an amazing dinner.

"I would like to say a few words" My mother said standing up.

"Oh, mom" I said feeling how my cheeks began to redden.

"Sometimes it is difficult to explain in words everything a mother feels on a day like this, in which her beautiful daughter is celebrating another year, taking another step in life, achieving what she always wanted, enjoying every moment and appreciating what she has and everything she got for herself" My mother said holding back a sob "Alex, on this special day, I just want to tell you again how much I love you, that I admire everything you do and that no matter how much time passes, I'm still here like when you were a little girl. Happy Birthday!" She said she finished with a couple of tears.

I got up from my chair and went quickly to hug her.

"Darling, you know that I am a man of few words" My father said making me laugh "But I want you to know that I am very proud of you, I love you" He finished kissing my forehead.

"Thank god for waterproof makeup" Anna said making us laugh as she wiped away a couple of tears that had fallen down her cheeks.

After singing Happy Birthday, we decided to go to the club.

As soon as we got to our table I was almost tackled in a double hug.

"Seb, Mackie" I said laughing "I'm glad you could come"

"We wouldn't miss your birthday" Sebastian said laughing "Happy Birthday, Alex"

"Thanks, Stan" I said with a smile.

"OMG, Alex Marchetti" Mackie said looking me up and down. I was wearing blue dress pants, a white blouse along with a top of the same color, which went inside the pants with some open buttons on my blouse and white sneakers "Woman, you're looking good! You ever see a girl this beautiful walking the streets?" Mackie asked Seb "She's gonna get arrested because she's killing all the ladies" He finished with a laugh "Happy Birthday, sugar"
