Scarlett POV
After taking our pictures, Alex and I went back to the party.
"Please, let's give a round of applause to Mrs. and Mrs. Marchetti" We heard the DJ say.
Alex and I walked in hand in hand, while everyone applauded us.
"You look beautiful" Chris Evans said as he hugged us both "I'm so happy for you"
"Believe me we are happy too" Alex replied giving me a huge smile.
"Scarlett!" I heard someone yell and when I turned around I saw that it was Florence "Congratulations, darling"
"Thank you, Flo" I said hugging her "You don't know how happy I am"
"It shows on your face" She said giving me a tender smile.
As Alex and I continued to greet our guests, a couple stood in front of me.
"Scarlett" The man said "I am Gary and this is my wife Janice"
When I heard their names my eyes filled with tears and I hugged them both quickly.
"Thank you" I said with a sob "Thank you for saving her"
"There's nothing to be thankful for" Janice said sweetly "And congratulations on your wedding"
"We're glad to know who's in charge at home" Gary said making me laugh.
Before I could say anything, Alex rushed over to hug Gary and Janice.
"I'm glad you were able to come" My wife said excitedly.
"We wouldn't miss it for the world" Gary replied.
"We're so happy for you" Janice said softly.
After several conversations, Alex and I went to our table where our parents were.
"Hey" Alex said giving me a beautiful smile.
"Hey" I answered softly.
She put her hand on my thigh and gave it a light squeeze.
"I love you, Scarlett" She said, kissing my cheek.
"The feeling is mutual, baby. I love you too" I said leaning in to kiss her.
"Okay, okay, okay" We heard RDJ say into the microphone "You must be wondering... What is Robert doing with the microphone? Well, it's time for speeches and who better than me to present them"
Alex and I looked at each other and started laughing.
"I want to introduce someone very dear to all of us, a gentleman, one of the people who best knows our beloved Scarlett, Chris Evans, better known as America's ass" Robert said again making us laugh.
Chris got up from his chair to receive the microphone from Robert.
"Thank you Robert, for that introduction" Chris said laughing "Hello everyone, as you know my name is Chris and I have the honor of being Scarlett's best friend. She and I have known each other for many years and I am proud of this friendship and the woman she has become. I am very happy to be here today supporting her in this marriage with Alex"
"I know I'm going to end up crying" I said in my head as I looked excitedly at Chris.
Alex took my hand and gave it a light squeeze and I did the same.
"I remember when Scarlett and Alex met. Their first date was special because I've never seen Scarlett so nervous about that day. That date, of course, led them to today, their wedding. Which I think we're all thankful for" Chris continued to speak as he stared at me and then to my wife "Alex, you are an amazing woman, someone who is loving, caring, and fun. In Scarlett, you have found your perfect match, although I must admit she might be a little more fun than you are!"
