Chapter 22

It was finally Thanksgiving and instead of resting in the comfort of my bed I was in my office signing papers and reviewing upcoming projects. When I was about to finish I received a call from my mother asking me to go buy some things she needed for dinner.

Leaving my office I headed to my car and drove to the nearest supermarket. As I looked through the shelves I felt like someone was watching me and when I turned my head in that direction there was no one.

"Weird" I said in a sigh while taking an olive oil.

During my journey through the supermarket I kept feeling as if someone was watching me but I didn't give it importance. When I got back to my car I noticed that there was a piece of paper on my windshield.

I picked it up and tensed as I read what was written on the paper.

"You're going to regret it, Marchetti"

Colin.

When I got to my apartment I sighed seeing the chaos. People everywhere, many smells of different types of food and noise... A lot of noise.

My mother decided to invite the Olsens and Scarlett's family to spend Thanksgiving with us. It's not that I don't like the situation, but I would have liked to have had a little peace.

After dinner I went to the couch and sat next to Rose.

"Alex, can I tell you something?" The little girl asked shyly and I nodded "There is a talent show at my school and I wanted to know if you could help me with my presentation"

"Of course I'll help you, little one" I said giving her a smile.

"Could it be our secret?" She asked in a low tone "I want it to be a surprise for mom"

"It will be our secret" I said intertwining our little fingers "Do you have any idea what you want to do?" I asked paying even more attention to Rose.

"Yes, we are supposed to prepare three presentations" She said excitedly.

Rose explained to me her ideas and how she wanted the three presentations to be.

"Do you mind if we ask Robbie, Sofia and Harry for help?" I asked and she nodded excitedly.

I called them, explained Rose's idea, and all three of them agreed to help.

"When is the presentation?" Sofia asked.

"It's a week after I'm back from winter vacation" The little girl replied.

"Do you know how to play guitar?" Robbie ask now.

"A little" Rose replied with a smile "Dad was teaching me during the pandemic"

"So we should refine what you already know and learn the song" Robbie said giving her a smile "I have a friend who has a studio here in New York, we could use it to practice and then Scarlett doesn't suspect anything"

"I think we should start practicing the last song since we all have to play an instrument" Sofia recommended "And the first two is just choreography and I know that you and Harry know the first two songs perfectly" She said laughing looking at me and Harry.

"We love that movie" Harry said crossing his arms.

"What movie?" A voice asked behind us.

"Emm... It's... What?" Harry asked nervously. God, he sucks when he has to keep secrets.

"We were talking about Frozen, mom" Rose replied laughing.

Scarlett sat down next to Rose and kissed her cheek.
