THREE DAYS LATER

After packing her clothes and all her belongings in her new room, Y/N goes over to her bed in the room that she shares with one of the hardest-working women, according to Mr Moon. He had sent the notice to them, which stated that Johnny and Sa Rah would be going back to Korea and would have their salaries deducted, meanwhile Y/N will be transferred to another apartment with three older women – each at the age of forty. After she was transferred, the elder women welcomed her warmly into the apartment, and although she was timid, she made sure to keep her personality a secret. She did not talk within the few hours that she got in the house, and she made sure to do whatever she was told to do without saying a word. That’s until Middrith started telling her pointless stories about her first grandchild and how her daughter could possibly be the same age as Y/N.

Laying flatly on her bed and covering herself with the blanket, she is about to close her eyes and prepare for sleep, because Theresa closed the lights and told everyone to sleep early, except Emmarance, the only fair woman in the house who’s Y/N’s roommate, who was having her silent nightly prayers. But Y/N’s phone buzzing on her nightstand brings her back.

When she opens her phone, she is surprised to see the message from her mother. “Mother?” she mutter, confused to see a message. “She never sends messages, she only calls.” She voices out her thoughts as she opens the message from her mother.

Mother:
Hello my baby girl.

Mother:
It’s been a while, and I am so sorry, but I forgot to send this video to you.

Mother:
Remember when you sent a parcel in this big black box? You said it was your gift to Taeil for his birthday. It arrived on the 12th, but I gave it to him on the 14th and I said it was from you.

Mother:
Yes, I know it was a month ago, but I am so sorry because I forgot to send the video to you.

Mother:
Can I send it now my baby?

Y/N:
Yes, of course mother.

Mother

[Y/N’s mother was filming the video and since it was on selfie mode, her face was being filmed as she laughed joyously at what Taeil said in the background. When she realized that it was on selfie mode, she switched it to film from the back camera. Taeil is seen doing a 90 degree bow. “Thank you once again for the gift.” He thanks her. But she laughed, “No, thank Y/N, she’s the one who got it. She sent it to me so I can give it to you.” She explains. Y/N’s mother than moves the camera in the direction of Taeil’s parents who sat on the couch in the living room. They have happy yet surprised faces as they ask “Really? From Y/N?” When Y/N’s mother moves the camera back to film Taeil, he has nervous eyes as he sniffs in from flu. “I’m happy, thank you.” He smiles, rubbing his nose. “Are you crying?” Y/N’s mother jokes a bit, even though she can clearly see how Taeil’s eyes are free from tears. “No,” he laughs in embarrassment. “I’m just sick. I caught flu a while ago.” He blinks tiredly, before looking down at the big box in his hands. “From Y/N?” he inquired. Y/N’s mother hums. “Oh,” he whispers, hiding a big and grateful smile with an awkward smile. “Tell her I said thank you.” He simply says, looking at the printed words of the designer on the box. “This must have cost a lot of money.” He states, looking up at her mother before making eye contact with the lenses of the camera. “Thank you.” He gives a small smile, right before the video ends]
