"Let's go."

Lisa took Jennie's hand and started to walk towards the door.

"Where?"

"We're going back to sleep in our room!"

Jennie's face reddened, and she stopped walking.

"What nonsense are you saying in front of the ancestors?" She said with a stern look.

"You haven't slept for a night, shouldn't you have a good rest? The ancestors will understand."

Jennie shook her head, "I can't leave the ancestral hall without father's order."

Lisa furrowed her brows, "I went to the front courtyard earlier, your dad is already sleeping. He has probably forgotten about you already, yet you're still kneeling here like a fool? There's not even a brazier in here for such a cold day like this, is there anyone out there who's harsher than your dad? Filial piety should be obeyed, but this kind of punishment is pointless, you know? You haven't done anything wrong in the first place."

"Lisa... Now is not the time to defy father yet. You know that." Jennie said in a hushed voice.

Lisa pressed her lips together and looked at Jennie for a long moment, then she asked, "Are you going or not?"

"I can't go, but I'll keep your clothes. You should go back, don't get sick from the cold... Ahh!"

At the next second, Lisa lowered her center of gravity, wrapped an arm around Jennie's waist and put another around her legs, then she lifted Jennie up to her shoulders.

"Manoban!"

"Shh, don't make so much noise."

"Put me down!"

Jennie was nervous and embarrassed at the same time.

How is this a woman's behavior, she's clearly a fiend in human shape! Is there anyone who's even more crude and shameless than her? Jennie thought to herself.

"I haven't slept well yesterday night either, and I haven't had breakfast yet. I don't have any energy right now. If you keep kicking around, my hands might slip, then don't blame me when you fall on the ground. By then, mom will definitely ask about it. I'll just say that you fell down because you kept wriggling on my shoulders, and who knows what that old senior might think."

Jennie could only feel all her blood rushing to her head.

Who knows if it's because of the lack of blood circulation or anger, but Lisa's words worked. Jennie did not dare to move anymore.

Lisa still knew when to stop.

She only carried Jennie out of the ancestral hall's courtyard and put her down once they were out of the moon gate.

People rarely came here, so it was fine to mess around a little.

If she actually carried Jennie all the way back like this, that's beyond Lisa's courage, and she couldn't bear to let Jennie become a joke for others anyways.

It's fine as long as her goal was accomplished.

Standing on her own again, Jennie's face was so red that it could bleed.

Lisa was completely fine, and she even looked a little pleased as she said, "Now that you have already defied your dad's order, why not go back and sleep? If you insist on going back to kneeling again, then I'll really have to carry you back to our room."

"Don't..."

"Mm?"

"I'll go back." Jennie was the one who surrendered in the end.
