Jennie was already gone by the time I woke up.

I called for a servant girl, and then I finally learned that Jennie had gone out again, and the servant girl said that it was for a meeting with the chamber of commerce.

I was somewhat unhappy.

I could forget about what happened yesterday, but I was free today too.

Why didn't she call me along?

I could take the wine for her if I were by her side!

I washed up for the morning and decided to head out and look for Jennie, but Alison stopped me at the door.

She had a look of understanding as she said, "Please hold, young master."

"What is it?"

"This maid will venture to ask, is the young master going to look for the lady?"

"That's right. Could it be that your lady has left a message for me again?"

"Yes, the lady ordered this maid to inform the young master."

I walked dejectedly on the path towards the bamboo courtyard, where Master Jisoo stayed.

It turned out that Jennie had already predicted that I would go out and look for her once I was awake; hence, she gave Alison a message to deliver and told her to watch the door.

It's just to tell me to stay at home properly and to give Master Jisoo a visit.

I had a feeling that Jennie was doing this on purpose.

She definitely knew that I would want to go out with her, and she was worried that she couldn't dissuade me; hence, she chose to slip away and let Alison block the door.

Facing Jennie's personal servant girl, even if I wanted to go, I had to consider Jennie's dignity as the lady of the estate.

I could guess why she didn't want me to go outside.

The poisoning must have given her a scare, and neither of us knew who the culprit was either.

I calmed down and thought about it.

Oh, never mind.

Jennie's worry wasn't illogical.

If the culprit saw me strutting around the streets again, they might use even more vicious methods than before.

I only had two serums left.

As they say, a blade in the open is easy to dodge while a hidden arrow is hard to parry, and carefulness steers the thousand-year ship!

I came to the bamboo courtyard and talked to Master Jisoo about my plan to head out with Jennie.

Once she heard everything, she mused, "It's fine to travel around, but if you take the lady along with you, who will take care of the matters in the estate?"

"Nini and I have already considered this point. We'll ask Father to manage things while we're gone. We won't be gone for long either; we should be back in about two to three months."

"When are you planning to set off?"

"I heard my brother-in-law say that foreign ships only enter the port around the third month. The first month isn't over yet, and Driftmark isn't far from here. There's enough time to set off later."
