He laughed heartily, then he sighed, "Looks like I will have to make more matches from now on, then?"

"Your Grace has keen eyes, and you turn stone to gold with a touch. Any marriage that you facilitate will surely be a good one."

"Someone come." He called.

It seems like he's enjoying my flattery greatly.

A guard entered through the door, "What instructions does Your Grace have?"

"Take him to the account room, withdraw the silver certificates."

"Understood. Master Manoban, please."

"Thanks to Your Grace!" I followed the guard to the entrance, but I suddenly stopped and turned around.

I gave the Duke a courtesy with my hands, then said, "Reporting Your Grace, this commoner still has one unreasonable request. Could Your Grace allow it?"

"Talk about it then."

"Understood. The eighth day of the sixth month is this commoner's mother-in-law's birthday, and it will be the first time that this commoner is celebrating my mother-in-law's birthday since marrying into the Stark. This commoner has been thinking for a few months, but I still couldn't think of a good present to give my mother-in-law. So this commoner thought... would it be possible to ask Your Grace to grant this commoner something that could be given as a birthday gift for my mother-in-law?"

As a duke, although the things that he grants were not comparable to imperially granted items, it was still more notable than things granted by regular aristocrats.

Especially to a family like the Stark; it could be regarded as a family heirloom to inherit through the ages.

He mused for a moment after hearing that, then he said, "Your mother is a woman. As an outside man, it is unreasonable for this lord to suddenly grant her something. How about this... I will greet my Consort Mother tomorrow and ask for her opinion. If she is in a good mood, I'll ask her to grant something. If it doesn't work out, I will tell my Consort to prepare a birthday present for your mother. That would be fine, right?"

I grinned at once.

Smiling brilliantly, I bowed with my hands folded in front of me, "This commoner thanks Your Grace!"

Mom was not actually my biological mother, and there were no eyes for the estate planted in the duke's estate, but I could still show such sincere filial piety.

He seemed to be moved by my sincerity too; he revealed a smile, "Go then."

"This commoner will leave now."

Back at the inn...

Lisa found that it was very lively here today.

Now that was rare, because the prices in this inn were much higher than the other inns.

Additionally, the desert merchant groups who were staying here before have already finished buying the resources they needed and left one after the other.

Carrying the attitude of a curious onlooker, Lisa strode into the inn with her hands behind her back.

Unexpectedly, she saw her four guards arguing heatedly with a few rugged men dressed in fur.

Geto was even punching the tabletop; looks like he was quite angered.

"Don't argue anymore, the Lord is back." Gojo shouted, and the hall quieted down instantly.
