Lisa lifted the hem of her robes as she stepped over the threshold, then she strode quickly inside.
She could see Jennie and Kristen at a small area outside the bedroom, and the qin and se that were arranged like the top of a triangle.
A copper cauldron was placed in the middle, and a fierce copper beast was crouching on an edge outside of the cauldron.
A unique fragrance suffused the air.
That curling incense smoke was flowing out from the beast's mouth, but it was not rising up. Instead, it 'flowed down' into the copper cauldron like a stream of water.
"Wife!"
Seeing that Jennie was safe and sound, Lisa's heart finally went back into its proper place.
Following that was an endless joy, and the impulse to pull her into her arms.
Standing behind the guse, one of Jennie's hands was lightly resting on the strings while she kept her other hand in front of her body.
There was a shimmering lustre in her beautiful eyes.
Her hair was put up in a simple style and kept in place with a plain black hair pin.
A lock of loose hair framed the left side of her face.
Jennie's red lips parted slightly, then she called softly, "Husband."
"Wife!" Lisa walked forward quickly with her arms spread, but just as she was about to touch Jennie, an utter killjoy of a voice suddenly reached her ear, "Ahem!"
Lisa could even feel the warmth of Jennie's fingers at her fingertips, but after hearing that obviously intentional cough, Jennie quickly retrieved her hands that were reaching towards Lisa.
Jennie bit her lower lip, then she swept a look at Kristen.
Lisa comprehended it, then she turned to face Kristen properly.
The latter was sitting behind a guqin with an upright posture as she strummed her long, well-maintained, shiny and smooth nails through the strings with utter boredom, playing half a tone.
Why was it half a tone?
It was simply because another hand that was supposed to press on the strings was covering her red lips in a dainty gesture instead.
A series of coquettish laughs could be heard.
Lisa bowed slightly, then she said with a slight smile, "This commoner Lisa Manoban greets Madam Swan."
"Hahaha...Young master Manoban. How have you been?" A coquettish laughter, and charming speech. She was even outdoing her past courtesan self.
Kristen's beauty was more like... a sort of obsequiousness.
Even when she put on a serious face, that vague charm would still be unintentionally apparent.
It wasn't strange for Jackson to fall head over heels for her, but Lisa already had immunity to this face.
Additionally, although Lisa liked the same sex, she wasn't the kind of person who liked any attractive girl she saw.
Lisa had always felt nothing towards Kristen.
Lisa's gaze was clear and composed, but she still cast her gaze down to avoid looking at Kristen directly, "Many thanks to Madam Swan for taking care of my wife."
"They all say that a married couple is of the same heart, but why start off with such distance? We could be considered old acquaintances after all, so why must young master Manoban be such a stranger? Wouldn't it be fine to just call me Kristen like Jen?"
