Manoban Residence

Lisa quickly removed their disguises, though she did not forget to take a picture for Jennie and for herself in the mirror, in order to ensure she could apply the same disguise accurately the next time.

Once she had put away everything, Lisa and Jennie finally let out a breath.

Lisa told Jennie to wait for a while as she had to lead the horses back, otherwise someone might run off with them.

Lisa rushed out of the bedroom, went through the bamboo forest again, then she got up on the wall with some momentum.

The two horses outside were still eating grass leisurely.

Lisa jumped down the wall, led the two horses back to the stable, then she returned to the bedroom.

Jennie had already changed back into her usual clothes.

Lisa kept everything that shouldn't appear here in her inventory.

She flipped a cup over, poured some water for herself, then she chugged it down in one go.

Lisa put down the cup, then she patted the seat next to her.

Once Jennie sat down next to her, Lisa told Jennie about everything that happened on the pier today.

Jennie listened with gusto, and her eyes shone radiantly.

"How do you know their language?" Jennie asked.

Lisa laughed for a while, then she explained, "Where I'm from, anyone can learn as many languages as they like."

"Both men and women can learn?"

"That's right."

Jennie revealed an envious expression, then she asked, "Is everyone over there... as amazing as you? Can they all speak a foreign language?"

Lisa rubbed her nose, then she said somewhat proudly, "Well, I'm also considered pretty outstanding where I'm from, okay? My exam results back then could count as the results of a top candidate in the imperial exam here."

"Really?"

"Of course, I had even skipped grades too!"

If Lisa had a tail right now, it would probably become a blur from all the wagging.

She hardly mentioned these glorious achievements on earth, but when she was in front of Jennie, she could never stop herself from showing more of it.

"On earth, most of the children of our generation would learn two or more foreign languages. The language I spoke earlier was Filipino. A lot of people know other languages too. It has been included in the text books for many other countries too, or taught as a subject. Where I'm from, the purpose of learning a foreign language has already changed too. Interest is the main reason. Most people learn a foreign language so that they can have a better time travelling to other countries, and to see the world outside. I'm the type of person who's relatively gifted with language, so I haven't really put in a lot of effort for any of them." Lisa continued.

Once Jennie digested the information Lisa gave her, she fell silent for a moment, then she returned to the topic of the ship, "It's better not to reveal your wealth from now on. If you didn't say that you're going to buy their gemstone later on, I was very worried that they would kidnap you."

"I've got it. Actually, I did consider that, that's why I told them that I only had so much when I took out the gold nugget. I'll be more careful in the future..."
