"What's the noise about?"

"The Quidditch list is out," Lily huffed. "I would never understand the obsession with the game. I'd rather play something like football, really."

"I love football!" I tell her.

She looks over at me, surprised. "You know football?"

"My mother used to play with me when I was little."

"Wasn't your mother..." She grimaced.

"Yes," I laughed. "She - uh, before I turned six."

"Didnt you try out for Quidditch, too?" She asked.

"Oh shoot!" I facepalmed, "I did!"

Getting up, Lily and I both made our way to the crowd, grimacing when both of us got elbowed at least twice.

"LOOK! Elena, you're the new seeker." Lily announced.

"Oh, really?" I looked at the sheet, feeling strangely proud of myself.

"You've sacrificed a lot for that," Someone said behind me.

I turned around to find Sirius grinning at me with his left arm in a sling. The sheet fell from my hands and without a second thought, I leapt into his arms — arm.

"OW."

"Shit —" I cringed, pulling away, "Sorry!"

Sirius laughed, "It's alright, I missed you, too."

"We saw each other two days ago," I rolled my eyes.

"And then Poppy injected me with something and I didn't wake up," He shuddered. "Scary."

"Poppy is scary," I agree, looking up at him. "Fuck it," I smile, hugging him tightly again.

Sirius stiffens before his right arm wraps around me, his chin resting on my head, "Careful, Elena, you're giving mixed signals here."

I pull away and swat at his good arm, "Why do I even try?"

He snorts, following me and Lily to our next class. "How many did I miss for today?"

"Two of them, we just returned from lunch. Don't worry, I made all your notes."

"You what?" He looked down at me,

"I — made your notes?" I frown. "Should I not have?"

"No," He forced a smile, "No one ever makes my notes."

"Well, you've got someone now." I shrug and he smiles.

We entered together in Potions classroom, considerably late due to our list checking. Slughorn has already been lecturing and grins at us three when we arrive.
