Hogwarts, Scotland Highlands, 1978
May 2nd, Worried auraWith 2 weeks to N.E.W.T.s, Lily was near panic attacks every moment of the day.
"I AM GOING TO FAIL POTIONS! I know I am," Lily cries. "I will never become a healer."
"Love, I'll help you with the draughts," James whispers from behind her. "I can get you —"
"GET OUT!"
"What?" James along with us all looked up.
Lily, red-faced and teary-eyed, stared into our souls. "All of you, get out."
"But, I wasn't the one who was talking!" I argue.
"You go to your dorm, Elena," Lily demanded. "You need to be separated from these trouble mongrels. Sirius, you go to yours. Remus, you will stay by James and Peter's side. Marlene, you're with Alice and Dorcas, you're with Mary. Now, GET OUT!"
"I —" James tried, but Lily literally pushed him out of the chair. "Fine - Fine, I'm going. Come on, Moony."
Remus shot me a soft smile before following after Peter and James to most likely the grounds outside.
I oblige and take my stuff, getting up to leave for my dorm. Sirius does the same, walking slowly on his stairs until Mary and Dorcas talk to Lily about how they could study better with their significant others.
When I'm sure Lily isn't looking at me, I run towards the boys' dorm stairs and Sirius catches my wrist, pulling me along to the seventh flight.
"We're not actually going to study, are we?" Sirius guffaws and then gets serious with wide eyes.
"No," I snort. "Of course, not. You're going surprise us all with the most O's like always and I'll get enough to become an Auror."
"An Auror?" He repeats. "You never told me you wanted to become an Auror."
"Higher than the Auror, actually." I purse my lips. "I want to be the Minister of Magic."
Sirius choked on air, "Wh-What?"
I grin, sitting beside him on the four-poster bed. "I've been researching a lot on it lately and I've actually been secretly preparing for N.E.W.T.s since the beginning of the seventh year. There is just too much corruption around here in the Ministry and I feel like I could do a good job."
"Sweetheart, isn't that a huge step though?" Sirius frowned. "You've barely done any leadership, as far as I know, controlling the entire wizarding community is big."
"I know," I assure him. "And I'm certain I'll be able to follow."
"But —"
"Now, no more talking, beautiful boy." I shut him up.
