Another fire spell that was considerably strong blinded me for a moment and an arm reached out toward me. I cried as I took it, the image of creatures with icy cold skin and dead eyes haunting me.

Regulas pulled me out and we both ran as fast as we could towards the rock arch where Kreacher was waiting for us.

We crossed the outer cave and collapsed when we finally reached the boulder.

"Apparate us," I asked Kreacher. "To somewhere isolated, Kreacher." He didn't seem to oblige but I wasn't taking no for an answer. "For him, your master might die here."

Kreacher gulped and took our wrists and within a blink, we were in a quiet and calm area of an unknown village.

"You fool," Regulas was repeating over and over again, crying still.

"Regulas," I whispered, crawling to him.

I pulled him into an embrace so tight, he gasped. I nearly lost this boy today. I don't know why he'd done what he'd done but Regulas Black always had a reason.

"Why -" He pulled away with a frown. "Why would you -"

"Shut up!" I cried. "You nearly died today, you stupid sod! Merlin, Regulas, shut up!"

He breathed in deeply and shook his head, taking out a locket from his clenched hands. "Horcrux." He said again.

"Am I supposed to know what it means?"

"Horcrux . . . " He cleared his throat. "A Horcrux is an object in which . . . in which a wizard hides a fragment of his soul. It's made through murder."

My heart lurched, "Who's is that?" I asked, even though I already had an idea.

He looked me dead in the eye, "Lord Voldemort."

"Oh, you brave, brave boy." I shook my head, hugging him.

"I can't be here anymore." He sniffled. "He knows it's me."

"How would he?"

"I left a note," He snorted.

I laughed because it was such a stupid but brave move and I could never have expected it from him. "You're a fool."

"I can't be here anymore, Elena."

I nodded, pulling away. I turned to Kreacher, "Apparate us to my home."

This time, Kreacher didn't waste much time following the order. We collapsed in front of my and Sirius's apartment. Dawn was falling in Surrey as I hastily unlocked the door and hauled Regulas inside.

It took me around an hour to make him vomit and release the toxins, feed him a heavy dosage of potions, heal him with ten different spells before he finally found himself able to see without black dots.

"I know what you'll do."

He looks up at me questioningly. "My grandfather is dead," I tell him. His eyes widen and he opens his mouth to say something but I cut him off. "You will live in the Hawke manor for a week before I find you a place in the muggle world."

"No -"

"Your safety is the priority here, Reggie." He frowns and I kneel down to be on his level. "This is what you always wanted, isn't it? No one knows you're alive. Change your name, live like a muggle, your trace will be off, and they'll all think you're dead. You're free to do anything you want, Reg. Leave it all behind. Let go."

He looks like he'll cry again and I hug him. "I don't know where Sirius is but . . . until he's back, stay here. I will need to prepare a burial for my grandfather before you can live there."
