November 4th, 1978

Sirius spent half of his birthday at work and the other half sleeping. When his work ended the next day, the first thing he did was send a patronus to James and Lily.

"What are you hopping around about?" I cocked my head.

"James isn't here yet!" Sirius complained.

"And he's supposed to be here because . . . ?"

"We're going on a ride on my baby Wilberforce!"

My smile dropped, Sirius was still pacing around in the living room, wearing a white shirt that was compressed and black pants straight from the Auror office.

"You named the bike Wilberforce?"

"Ingenius, innit?" He turned to look at me with a charming grin.

My face was white and my eyes wide when I said, "Wilberforce?"

"It's unisex!" Sirius argued.

"What sex?"

Sirius and I turned around to find James leaning against the front door along with Lily behind him. Lily jumped to hug as soon as she spotted me while James smiled widely.

"Wilberforce," Sirius said to James.

"Am I supposed to know what that means?" James frowned.

Sirius rolled his eyes, "It's the name of my bike, the bike Elena brought? For my birthday? I thought I mentioned it in the patronus."

"You did," Lily answered for her fiance. "Wait, you named the bike Wilberforce?"

"I KNOW!" I exclaimed.

"Oh my god," James shook his head, "That's . . . that's ingenious!"

"What?" I asked, exasperated.

"That's unisex!"

"THAT'S WHAT I SAID!" Sirius grinned before hugging his best friend, "James, Oh, James."

James chortled, "I have a better name, though."

"Do you?" I asked with relief.

He nodded with concentration before blurting, "ELvendork!"

"What the -"

"THAT'S UNISEX, TOO!" Sirius gasped.

"I KNOW!" James grinned, "Aren't we both super smart or what?"

Lily and I rolled our eyes and the boys took it as their cue to leave. James mock sighed, "Let's go, shall we?"

"Come back before midnight!" Lily yelled at their backs as the two men got up on the bike and pushed the lever.

"WILL DO!" James yelled back before shrieking as Sirius hauled the bike forward at full speed.

"Jesus, Elena, you know better than to get them gifts like these." Lily snorted.

"I know, I know. But oh, look how happy he was." I pouted.

Lily moved to the kitchen to take out our best wine before looking up at me with glimmering eyes, "Do I sense something more than friendship?"

I rolled my eyes, "No, why does everyone keep asking me that?"

"Because you find solace in his happiness." She shrugged, pouring out the red alcohol into two glasses.

"I'd be just as happy to see you happy, or James, or Remus or Marls, or -"

"Now, now, don't lie about your feelings to the boss." Lily rolled her eyes for the umpteenth time. "I practically invented that move."

"I'm not -" I sigh. "You know what? I'm not even going to try."
