I am trying to do what Ella asked, I really am, but it just doesn't work out that quickly.
Remus and I are becoming fast friends, I had a civil conversation with Sirius four days ago at dinner and James and I are goofing around. Lily is so sweet to me and Marlene doesn't like Ella as much which probably makes her and Dorcas the only friends I'm 'allowed' to make.
On the Hogsmeade day, my first Hogsmeade day, I ready myself to go out with the marauders.
It's surprisingly exciting and I'm nervous and flushed after I complete my hairstyle. It's parted and wavy while my face has little makeup, only mascara and a dark red - nearly brown lipstick.
I'm wearing a dark brown leather jacket with my favourite weird sisters' shirt beneath it. I look at my reflection at least twenty more times before sighing and leaving for the Hogwarts grounds.
Ella is already there. dressed in a pastel blue cardigan and light pink flare pants. Her hair is pinned in one direction and she is looking gorgeous. It's the only time I've seen my mother's reflection in her this strong and I don't know how it makes me feel.
James is bouncing on the heels of his feet and grins as soon as he spots me. It's 8:58 and Lily is yet to arrive. Remus is standing on the other side of Sirius and he looks extremely handsome in his Gryffindor jumper, standing against a tree trunk with a book in his hands.
Sirius, oh - he looks ethereal. He's wearing his signature black leather jacket above a black t-shirt and black pants. He's half asleep from the looks of it, leaning against the same tree, a heavily ring-adorned hand holding his other arm's elbow.
James comes running towards me for a hug and places a sloppy kiss on my forehead, "Mornin', Elena. First Hogsmeade trip, eh?"
"Yes," I grin back, "I'm excited, hopefully, a day with you all won't be as bad as the rumours suggest."
"You'll miss out on everything good if you start listening to those nasty rumours," Ella scoffs from behind James, "Is that Lily?"
I turn around to find Lily walking consciously towards me, wearing a striking red dress that looks brilliant with her hair.
"Hey, Elena." She smiles and brings me into an embrace.
"Heeeey, ready for your date?"
"Yeah, where is he — oh no. No, no way!" She looks at me with wide and frightened eyes. "You couldn't —"
I grimace and shrug, "Have a good time?"
"Elena!" Lily covers her face with her hands, "You tricked me,"
"Would you have come otherwise?"
"No!"
"Exactly," I smile, "And come on, Lils. You and I both know you're not nearly as disappointed as you're claiming to be."
