ABUJA, NIGERIA
It looks unbelievable, but today Rahma's lefe (bridal gift) will be brought today and Afreen couldn't be more happier for her. She never knew the joy of getting married to the love of your life, until now. Rahma looked happy, extremely happy. She looked as if she should go out and just tell her father to get her married today itself. She was that over joyed. And it brought a smile to Afreen's face. She was genuinely happy for her best friend, her sister.
All she could say now was Alhamduliallah. Alhamduliallah for God's timing. They have been dreaming about each others wedding for as long as she could remember. Umar is lucky to have Rahma, that anyone could say.
Growing up Rahma was the quiet, shy and obedient kid, while Afreen was the lousy, bossy and mischievous one, but who are we to say God's creation cannot change. And now look, look at the way everything has changed. Maturity is really a great thing.
"Amarya seh Kyali kike. Bride you're just glowing." Afreen said to Rahma as she sat on her bed. She has been with her since morning, her and Aisha and now it was already eleven forty five pm. They are about to leave the house as per tradition.
"Yes now, why won't I glow? I am about to get married to the love of my life." Rahma said, hugging a pillow.
"Ehen masu miji rub it on our face." Aisha said, rolling her eyes.
"You guys won't understand the feeling." Rahma replied, laughing.
"Aa lalai we won't understand. Afreen did you hear her."
Afreen shook her head, then laughed.
"Do you remember the first time you told us about Umar. It was a cloudless day and the sun was shining brightly. " Aisha said, brushing her shoulder with Rahma's own teasingly.
"Aisha bilallahil azeem." Rahma muttered, while Afreen was just laughing at their banters, but then she suddenly realized that Rahma is still not dressed.
"Rahma stand up and go take your bath. We won't be held responsible if any elder comes in wallahi." Afreen demanded.
Rahma looked up, then laughed before resuming to the typing she was doing on her phone, before she got interrupted by her girls. "I know. One minute. "
"Ya Allah give me husband." Aisha said, raising her hand up.
"Aisha don't worry yourself because of this girl. Komai lokaci ne. Everything has time."
The door clicked open and Rahma's mother appeared, with her veil loosely wrapped on her head. She eyes started searching the room, suddenly the searching stopped when she sighted Rahma.
