I do not own Harry Potter ... but if I did Bel would be in it and would slay

The rest of the day went fairly quickly for the young, new witch.

Dumbledore had accompanied her to acquire her uniform and her books after she had visited a bank called Gringotts to take out some of this inheritance he had mentioned.

Along the way, several things had happened.

The first thing of note was the plethora of questions invading her mind.

With every shop she entered, every person she saw, every scent she smelled, she wondered about her parents like she had never done before.

She had always been told by every single orphanage runner that she was not to wonder about such things.

Her parents left her.

Plain and simple.

Short story.

Nothing more.

She never knew them, so how could she miss them?

It was easier to just put them out of her mind and focus on other troubles she was experiencing.

Bel had even started to tell herself that the note she had was a trick of some kind.

One night she was so confused as to why her mother would claim to love her so much but left her alone with such vile people surrounding her.

Now she was thrown into a situation where she had more questions about her parents that she could never have thought she would be asking in her wildest dreams.

After attempting to ask Dumbledore about her family, she was always met with the same oddly vague answers.

It was clear he wasn't someone who divulged information easily.

The second thing was all the information he did give her.

Dumbledore had explained about the school. Hogwarts.

It was after they had left Ollivanders, and Bel was in Flourish and Blotts to acquire the textbooks she would be needing for her classes.

Dumbledore told her she would be taking seven subjects, as did all students.

Transfiguration, Charms, Potions, History of Magic, Herbology, Astronomy and Defence Against the Dark Arts.

Of course, these were nothing like the subjects Bel had already experienced at the orphanage during their learning sessions.

Maths, English, Science.

However, the concept of learning about magic was something that she became very excited about fairly quickly after peeking inside one of the textbooks and seeing instructions for a spell that would turn someones legs into jelly.

On top of that, Dumbledore had explained the compulsory flying lessons first year students had to have after they had walked past a shop selling brooms.

Bel had asked if it was a cleaning shop, which caused Dumbledore to explain after he collected his laughter.

The girl shared the dream of many children around the world to fly.

The fact it would actually happen one day peaked her excitement even more.

Along the way, she had created a small red mark on her arm where she kept pinching herself to see if she was dreaming.
