5. Sweets and Spells

A few minutes later, the three newfound friends were sat in their compartment with piles of magical treats stacked around them.

Bel analysed each one, becoming more and more intrigued with every one she would pick up.

They were incredibly similar to what sweets and chocolate were like in her world, only with their own magical spin to them.

It was the magical spin that made Bel so excited to be in this world and not the other one.

At one point, the animal that was hiding in Ron's pocket came jumping out to join the three in their indulgences.

Gus immediately started squawking as the owl laid eyes on a large rat, causing Bel to place a small blanket over his cage to calm him down.

"Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans?" Harry asked as he held up a small white and red stripped box from the pile next to him before opening it and holding it out in Bel's direction for her to take one.

Bel glanced over from where she was sat cross-legged with a mound of empty wrappers filling the space in-between her legs as she chewed on some gummy worms that actually squirmed like the real animal before giving Harry a small smile and taking a yellow jellybean.

"They mean every flavour. There's chocolate and peppermint, and there's also ... spinach, liver and tripe", Ron explained as he had been doing with each treat the two newcomers picked up.

As Ron mentioned the disgusting flavours, Harry and Bel both removed the ones they had placed in their mouths and put them back in the box after pulling disgusted faces.

"My brother George swore he got a booger-flavoured one once", Ron added before returning to the gummy worm he was chewing on.

Bel turned to her own pile and took notice of a purple and gold box.

She turned it over in her hand and read the writing on the front.

Chocolate Frog.

"Look at this one", she said as she passed the box over to where Harry was sitting.

"These aren't real frogs, are they?" Harry asked as he read the box Bel handed to him.

"It's just a spell. Besides, it's the cards you want. Each packs got a famous witch or wizard. I've got about 500 meself", Ron explained yet again.

Harry started to open the small box as Bel shuffled through her own sweets.

"Watch it!" Ron called out and Bel looked back up to see a small brown frog leap up out of the box to the open window before jumping out.

"Ah, that's rotten luck. They've only got one good jump in them to begin with", Ron said.

"What card did you get?" Bel asked as she watched Harry pick up the card from the box whilst unwrapping another sweet.

She had decided that her favourite sweets so far were green apple flavoured ones.

Lemon sherbets being a close second.

Any type of chocolate that didn't come to life and jump out of windows being third.

"I've got Dumbledore!" Harry exclaimed as he turned the card around to show Bel.
