Chapter 20

Sam's POV

After waiting around for a while, they moved Kat back to the delivery room and I washed up to go in.

"Here ya go, dad. In about 5 minutes, Dr. Gutierrez should come out here and bring you back" a nurse said as she handed me my hair net.

"Okay, thank you" I said. I was extremely nervous, sweaty, gross, and this was unexpected.

I waited around again until Dr. Gutierrez came to get me.

"You can stay with her the rest of the time" he said and I went directly to Kat.

"Hey babe, you okay?" I asked her.

"Yeah, I can't feel anytime below my boobs, a little nervous" she said.

I grabbed her hand and cupped it in between the both of ours. "We got this. You got this. Just think, anywhere from now to an hour from now, were gonna have our babies, our 3 babies" I said and she nodded.

I leaned down and kissed her forehead as I sat in the chair beside her.

"Do you feel anything mama?" A nurse asked and Kat shook her head.

"Alright, that's good. Dr. Gutierrez is starting on making the incision to welcome your babies" she said and I smiled.

"I feel a lot of pressure" Kat said and I nodded, "that's okay, everything is going smoothly, your alright babe" I told her.

In just a few minutes, we heard cries of a baby.

"It's a girl!" The nurse said and held our first baby above the sheet so we could see.

"Here, dad, you wanna cut the cord?" She asked and I nodded.

I followed her around and cut the umbilical cord of our first girl.

One look to my left and I seen the doctors pulling out another baby, "this is a boy!" The nurse exclaimed and I cut his cord too.

I sent a smile to Kat as I watched a nurse make sure she was okay and doing well.

"Dad you want to come see your two little babies?" A nurse asked and I nodded.

Seeing the two in the stations, next to each other, their cries quieted and I felt like the world went silent. I focused on my two little ones who I'd always promise to protect.

That was, until I heard a third set of cries. "It's a boy" the nurse exclaimed.

I walked to see him and I felt myself break as I looked at the three children Kat and I brought into the world.

"Sam, how are they?" Kat asked me and I walked over to her.

"Beautiful babe, absolutely gorgeous" I told her. Two nurses brought over the boys and then a third brought our daughter.

"Oh goodness they are" Kat said, now crying.

Kat's POV

Seeing my baby's faces made me immediately cry. Those three were mine and Sam's gorgeous little ones.

My mind shut off everything else except the moments I saw between Sam and the triplets when the nurses took them back over.

Soon enough, the sheet was removed and I was covered up again.

Three nurses wheeled the babies as Sam walked beside my moving bed. Once we got to a normal room, I felt more at ease.

"Okay so you're able to sit up when you'd like but be careful. We will get your babies moved over here and clear everyone out so you 5 can bond" a nurse told me and I nodded.
