Chapter 35

Riley's POV

Making my way out of the dogs room, the dog shampoo and wet dog food in hand, Diesel tried to sniff the pup.

"No D, leave him alone for now" I said.

I went upstairs and went into my bathroom, setting the puppy in the empty bathtub.

I got two towels out, one for the floor and the other sitting beside me to dry him off.

"Here buddy" I said and and picked him back up, turning the water on.

I let it get luke warm before I set him back down.

He was really scared of the water at first but then I drizzled some over his back and he seemed to have calmed down.

"Aww" Maddie said from behind me.

"You can come watch while I give him a bath" I said.

She curried over to the closed toilet and sat on the seat, watching.

I began to wash the pup and by the time I was done, he could hardly keep his eyes open.

I got him out and dried him off, holding him in the towel. We went into my room and I put some of the food in a bowl and let him sniff it.

He scarfed it up and then drank the water I had sitting next to him as well.

"He was hungry" Maddie said.

"Yes he was, come on let's take him to potty" I told her.

I picked him back up and we walked downstairs, avoiding the other 3 dogs.

"Yayy, the puppy is clean, did he eat?" Y/n asked as she followed us to the backyard.

"Yup" Maddie answered.

The small dog did his business and I grabbed him once again.

"I'm gonna take him upstairs to nap while I do some homework" I told her.

"Okay" Y/n replied, patting the small golden dogs head.

Just then, Jake and Tara came through the door.

I said hello to them and let them see the dog quickly.

I walked back upstairs and laid the puppy down beside me as I grabbed my laptop.

He snuggled beside my hip and I began to do my homework for school when I got a text from Tina.

Tina: Hey R! There's a party at Kylers tonight... I can pick you up?

Riley: What time? I don't think my sister would let me go so I might have to sneak out

Tina: Party starts at 11 but PLEASE be there by 1

Riley: For sure... I'll ask someone first

Tina: Yayy

I continued to do the few notes I had for world history and then went to Jake's number.

Riley: Jakeeyyyyy

Jake: Rileyyyyyy

Riley: Hey can you do me a favor and come up here, don't tell anyone what it's about?

Jake: Omw

I watched the birds out my window before turning my attention to the foot steps in my room.

"What's up?" He asked.

I motioned for him to close the door and sit down.

"So... you can't tell Y/n or Colby but I'm asking you to cover for me" I said and he looked at me with a grin.
