"Okay. Where are you taking me?" I asked and slid off the headphones.

"No, no. Put them back on" he said and I shook my head.

I slid the headphones back over my ears and I couldn't hear anything but the beat of Sail by Awolnation loudly playing.

We were in the car for maybe 5 more minutes until I felt the Bronco park.

Duke took the headphones off of me and I reached for my blindfold.

"Hold on" he laughed.

"Don't look, I'll be right back" he said.

The car door opened and shut again which told me I was alone.

By the sounds of cars and the distance we drove, I knew we were still in the city.

All I heard was my door open and Duke reach for me.

"Step out" he said.

I got out and held onto him as we walked ahead, going through a gate.

"Alright... ready?" He asked.

"Take your blindfold off" he said.

I slipped it off and seen a pen of small, different colored puppies.

"Oh my god" I held my hand up to my mouth.

"Happy birthday" Duke said.

"What?! My birthday isn't for a couple weeks babe" I said.

"Well, I think your present would be better if it cane early, that way you can pick it out" he said.

"Girls are $300, boys are $270" a lady said as she walked out.

"What exact breed are they?" I asked.

"Pitbull pups. Mom and dad are both pure bred" she said.

"Do you have photos of the parents?" I asked.

"Yep, sure do. Here's mom on the left and dad on the right" she said and showed us a picture.

"I see them little faces, they are pitties" I said and she smiled.

"Can I go in there?" I asked and pointed at the pen.

"You can go wherever, sit down, anything. Just, watch out where pee and poop are" she said.

The puppies weren't too young, they were most likely old enough to be adopted.

"Oh my goodness, hi" I said as I stepped in.

The puppies jumped up on me and I sat down.

Duke crouched down next to me outside of the pen as we looked at the puppies.

"Anything specific we need to know?" I asked.

"Some may have a wheat allergy, that's prone to pitbulls. But they are all in good health, up to date on their first rounds of shots cause they are 13 weeks" she said.
