Christmas
—————————————————

Christmas of 2040... the second Christmas without mom. The second Christmas of Luxe's.

It's slowly getting easier but we all have our moments.

Luxe turned one last month, it was so cute. We couldn't have a party because he had gotten a little bug that eventually led me, Duke and Ryker to get.

But our family is in town for the Holidays. Haley, uncle Zach, his girlfriend Meghan and her daughter Kaya, Dad, our siblings, Duke's older brother, Jaxson.

We wanted to keep Christmas simple this year.

I'm finally out of my sling, with total mobility of my shoulder. These past 6 months were hard as hell but I've got it back.

I'm back to playing soccer for the school, I'm still in Glee club. And although Mr. Mikey's been weird, I try to ignore it to have fun.

"Hey everybody, let's do presents" Dad said and we piled in the living room.

We already ate lunch, we had Jersey Mike's catered for a simple lunch- like I said.

But this year was exciting because Luxe was now old enough to understand the concepts of presents and how to open them.

He still isn't talking but he's walking everywhere and getting into everything he can.

We all went around and opened presents, giving Luxe a little help here and there.

That was, until it was my turn.

"From me first because I'm the best dad in the world" dad said and handed me a bag.

Inside was a pair of new shoes and a small box. I opened it to find plane tickets.

"Peru? Dad are you serious?" I asked.

"Yep. Just you two, for a week. I'll keep Luxe for some pop and grandson time but it's booked for May, right after your graduation" he said.

"Oh god, thank you dad" I hugged him.

I had no clue what it was for, but that didn't matter. I loved Peru and always wanted to go.

"Next me" Ryker said.

He handed me a box that had necklace inside. It was a locket of a picture of me and mom on my 16th birthday.

I smiled and held it to my heart, hugging my brother.

"My turn!" Gunnar yelped.

"I uh, didn't have the time to wrap it but I didn't think you'd mind" he said and handed me the picture frame.

It was a photo of our family, Duke and Luxe, Haley too. Mom was standing next to dad with angel wings on her back, a halo above her head.

"Aw, Gunnar, this is amazing" I hugged him.

The triplets all gifted me crafts they had done, I loved every one of them.

But finally, it wad Duke's turn.

"I actually need to go get this one from upstairs so don't peek" he said and I put my hands over my eyes.
