Chapter 45

Colby's POV

After Y/n stitched my arm, I smelt blood, human blood.

"Don't come outside and don't come downstairs, someone may be hurt" I told her and she scrunched her brows.

"But they are all gone, right?" She asked.

"Yeah but there's a hurt human around here somewhere, I smell it" I said and she nodded, going upstairs.

I walked out back again and didn't see anyone.

Following the scent, I came around the house to the front where Julian was on the ground, blood running down the driveway due to the rain.

"Shit!" I yelled in a whisper as I ran over.

"Julian, can you hear me?" I asked as I applied pressure to his neck where he was bit.

"Y-yeah. What the hell was that thing?" He asked as he winced in pain.

"It was a vampire" I said and he stared at me.

"I'm serious" I told him.

"And it bit one hell of a bite out of you, kid" I said as I looked before putting pressure back on his neck.

"I won't make it, will I?" He asked.

I knew his breathing was slowing by the minute and he didn't have long.

"Don't. But no one can know what happened so I'll have to try to save you myself" I said.

"I have zero clue if it will work but don't scream" I said and he nodded, clenching his jaw.

I leaned down and bit the other side of his neck, without draining him.

I could feel his heartbeat pulsating in his neck under my mouth.

I let my venom sink into him before biting him again next to the first one.

It wasn't like I held literal venom though, a bite to the neck without the vamp drinking blood, draws the saliva into the wound and it's supposed to heal.

But this was probably the vamp that Amara killed that got to him.

The rain was pouring now and my hair was down in my eyes, dripping water onto Julian's face.

"You're one of them" he said, his face paler than before.

He looked like he'd seen a ghost.

"I don't kill. Let me help you" I said and he shook his head.

"Nuh uh, no. No way" he said as he tried to get up.

The blood flow started again, worse than when I found him.

"I'm not gonna hurt you, Julian" I said and put my hands up in defense.

"Do they know about this? Your wife and kids?" He asked angrily.

"No time for question Julian, I'm moving you" I said and held his hand on his neck.

"Keep it there and don't move around, I'll get it" I told him and then lifted him up under his armpits and dragged him over to the side of the house.

There were enough trees covering the spot to where the rain wasn't getting through as good.

"I'm gonna hold your neck, pull your shirt off" I told him and he stared at me.

"Do it!" I yelled, trying to save him.

He obliged so I took it from the neck and ripped it in half to peel it off of him.
