Gunnar's POV
—————————————————

"So... what did you need?" I asked as I came down the stairs.

"Can you go out in the front and take that thing off the mailbox?" Maddie asked me.

"Oh yeah, sure" I said and walked out.

We had a decoration piece that said 'Congratulations on finishing your 12 years Duke!' It was made to be funny and surprise Duke once we got home from the graduation yesterday but now it's time for it to come down.

I unraveled the ribbon around the mailbox post and it still wouldn't come off.

"Need a hand?" Dad walked over.

"It's like knotted or something" I said and he handed me his pocket knife.

I flipped it open and cut the ribbon, sliding the decoration off.

"Thanks dad" I said.

"Your welcome buddy. Hey, why don't you, me and the triplets go do something today?" He suggested.

"Yeah, that could be fun" I replied.

"Okay. We will leave at noon" he said.

We started to walk inside and I tramped upstairs to my room.

I sighed and flopped on my bed.

I had been thinking a lot about mom recently. Of course, my therapy is helping but I just wish she didn't have to go.

Never in my life did I think I would find her, nevertheless, find her dead.

I grabbed my phone and texted Lauren.

Gunnar: Do you think I'll ever be able to tell them?

Lauren: Don't push it, only tell them when you think your ready.

Lauren: It's not a race... figuring yourself out y'know? Your finding who you are and who you want to let into your life.

Gunnar: Yeah... what if they don't accept it? Accept me?

Lauren: Im sure they will, your family isn't judgmental.

Gunnar: You're right about that.

"Gunnar! Food!" I heard Ryker yell.

"Coming!" I yelled back.

Gunnar: I might just tell them now, everyone is here. But I have to go, breakfast.

Lauren: Text me if you need me. I'll probably stay at my cousins tonight so you don't have to worry about me.

Gunnar: Got it, be safe.

I turned my phone off and sat up, taking a breath.

I walked downstairs and sat at the table before grabbing my food.

Waiting for everyone to calm down, I became less nervous.

"Hey guys... can I tell you all something?" I asked.

"Uh yeah sure, what's up little bro?" Maddie asked.

"So we all were raised to tell the truth, even if it would be hard. And so this is kinda difficult for me to let out but I needed to tell you all something" I said.

"The floor is yours" dad smiled.

"I uh- I was never interested in girls for looks or anything... but I am interested in guys that way" I said quietly.
