Colby's POV
—————————————————

"Hey Duke, can you drive my car back home? Gunnar and I have to go do something, I'll explain later" I asked.

"Yeah, you sure y'all will have a way home though?" He asked.

"Yeah I can get a cab or something" I said and nodded.

"Thank you" I called before jogging out to the woodline.

Gunnar was crouched down and had his hands on his head.

"I know you're freaking out, and I know your heartbeat sounds really loud but just come with me" I said.

He got up and I grabbed his shoulder, guiding him farther into the woods.

"D-dad. Where are we going?" He asked.

"Just a few more minutes" I said.

And those few minutes of walking went by until no civilization was in sight.

"Molly!" I called out.

"Brock" she jumped down.

"Well, well, who do we have here?" She asked, walking towards Gunnar and I.

"Who the hell are you?" Gunnar grunted and I squeezed.

"Language, boy. Gunnar, this is Molly. Molly, Gunnar" I said.

"Wait. The Gunnar. The Gunnar that never transformed?" She asked.

"Transformed into what?" Gunnar asked and pushed himself out of my grip.

I stared him down and his face softened.

"Your big secret. The vampire secret. Why now? Wasn't that supposed to happen when I was little?" He asked.

"Yeah, that's what I don't get" I said.

"Isn't that supposed to happen with the triplets and Ellie?" He asked and I nodded again.

"How old are you, kid?" Molly asked him.

"13" he responded.

"Yeah. You are way overdue for transition. Alright, tell me what happened" she said.

Gunnar froze with his eyebrows furrowed.

"When did you feel different?" I asked.

"Oh. Right after we left the room, I told them id be out in a second and then went to see mom" he said.

"You were holding her hand... was that it?" I asked.

"Yeah, other than kissing her forehead" he said.

"She's passed, correct?" Molly asked and we both nodded.

"Was her hand cold when you touched it?" She asked.

"Yes but can someone please just stop this pounding in my brain?!" He asked, frustrated.

"Got it" I said and jumped up into the tree.

I jumped around until I spotted a rabbit and grabbed it, walking back to him.

"Nuh uh, no way. I'm not biting a rabbit" he said.

"Do you want to die?" Molly asked and he shook his head.

"Instincts will kick in, just bite. Hard" I said and handed it over to him.

The tension moved from the air and his eyes changed to the golden brown color.

"Is it gone?" I asked snd he nodded before tossing the rabbit.
