Chapter 38

A few days later
Y/n's POV

It had been about 3 or 4 days since Riley had her ultrasound and we were making it into North Carolina.

"One hell of a drive later... welcome to Oak Island ladies" I said.

We stayed longer than expected in Texas due to Riley wanting to stay with Tom which was fine, we enjoyed hanging with them.

But now, we were at the place where I made the best and worst memories on my own.

While here, we were staying with Abby and Cooper and their three kids.

Emilia was 6, and the twin boys, Luke and Connor were almost 3.

The water under the bridge glowed from the sunrise, being that I had slept yesterday but was up all night.

Kat took a few pictures on both of our phones which I would post on my IG later.

After getting over the bridge, we made the way to the house.

"Well this is weird" I said as I got out of the car.

Abby scrambled her 7 month pregnant self over to me and engulfed me in a hug.

"I missed you, hey Maddie!" She exclaimed as we pulled away.

"Coop" I said as he walked over smiling, his arms open.

His embrace reminded me of the many years ago when we first met.

"How are you?" He asked.

"Good, good. Taking care of the family, trying to put enough bricks on their head so they'll stop growing" I joked.

He laughed and at me and nodded.

"No, I get that. Emilia is already 6 and lost her first baby tooth the other night. And our boys, man they are in little league baseball" he told me.

"What?!" I exclaimed with a wide smile.

"Been showing them things since they could walk and hey, here we are" he said proudly.

I noticed Riley came up to us.

"Cooper, meet my younger sister Riley. Riley, this is one of my best friends from the summer around 5 years ago" I introduced.

"Nice to meet you Riley, I can assure you that our house is fun" he said and they began to talk.

I went back over to Abby and put a hand on her large swollen bump.

"Little boy or girl names yet?" I asked.

"Oh are you waiting till birth?" Alex asked and earned a nod from Abby.

"For a boy, we have Atticus Reid and for a girl we have Olivia Mae" she said.

I puckered my lip at the names and seen Riley smile widely from behind her.

"Come on in, Y/n you know where everything is. Our room is the same, the boys have Cam and Amari's old room, Emilia has Ayla's old room and Jay's room is empty for guests... the sun porch has sleeping area as well as the living room so get comfy" Cooper told us.

I grabbed the remaining bags and we went inside.

"Auntie Y/n!" Emilia squealed.

"Hey doll" I said and hugged her.

"Maddie!" She yelled and they ran and hugged each other tightly.

I puckered my lip at the sight and the boys came over to me, hugging me.
