Chapter 21

"What the hell are you?" My dad asked Colby.

"Enough to be stronger. I'm a vamp you sick bastard" Colby told him.

"You can't kill me" my dad said.

"No, but she can" Colby said and I watched as Amara held him and pulled up on his head.

"Salt and burn his glasses, they are in my old room" Amara said and I ran across the hall and found my fathers old glasses.

Luckily since I knew these things would happen, everything we needed was in a locked closet.

"Colby, the key" I said and he tossed his key ring to me.

I unlocked the door and grabbed the lighter fluid, a lighter and salt.

I ran down the stairs and went to the backyard and lit the glasses up on the concrete.

A few minutes later, Colby came walking out. "How the hell did Amara make herself visible?" He asked.

"Zero clue, she doesn't have a vessel so I don't know" I shrugged.

I looked down at the now, dimly lit flame still holding onto the glasses and a stomped on them.

"I think we just solved the whole thing. He was cremated and he went away to hell with this last object" I said.

"Let's go check on the kids, Ryker was pretty shaken up" Colby said and I nodded.

We walked back inside and went upstairs to see Ryker and Gunnar were laying in Colby and I's bed with the dogs.

"Hey bubba, you okay?" I asked and he nodded.

"Who was that?" He asked us.

"A very, very bad man that you'll never have to worry about again" Colby said and sat down.

Chance laid his head on my knee and I patted it as I noticed Ryker rubbing his eyes.

"Alright come on buddy, bed time" I said and got up, picking him up and carrying him to his room.

"Sleep tight don't let the bed bugs bite... I love you Ry" I said. "I love you too mommy" he said with his lips puckered.

I leaned down and pecked his lips before planting a kiss on his forehead and standing up, turning the light out.

I walked back to our room and seen Colby was undressing Gunnar.

"Hey I was gonna take a shower and bathe him while I was at it, wanna help?" He asked and I smiled.

I walked to the bathroom and turned on the water, getting it to the right temperature.

I undressed and got in as Colby handed Gunnar to me and then undressed himself.

Colby got in and washed himself before taking Gunnar and washing him while I washed myself.

"I feel like were on the show where the cheap families shower together to save water and money" I laughed.

"Nah, just bonding time with the baby. How are you by the way? I feel like I don't ask enough and I probably should" he said, guilt filling his voice.

"I'm okay I guess, my nips hurt like a mother trucker and my back hurts every once in a while but... overall okay. I'm glad he's getting better about sleeping all night so I can get more sleep" I said.

"At any point you want to switch over to bottle feeding completely, count me in so I can take him off your hands" Colby said and I smiled.

I realized that se were all done bathing so I turned the water off and got out, wrapping a towel around myself.
