Y/n's POV

Julian had just told me what happened while I was getting the kids from school and I was shook but went upstairs.

"Did you threaten him to lie?" I asked Colby as I walked through our room.

"Yeah, no, maybe so" he said as he continued to pull his shirt over his head.

"Seriously Colby?" I asked.

"Yes. Because if he didn't, and if he told the truth... we would be held responsible for Finn and for all of his actions" he said.

"He was watching our home. And I was outback with Julian. For god's sakes, no one would've known because Riley was putting Gunnar down for a nap and you were upstairs" he told me.

"Finn is a good dog and was protecting his family, our family. Now I don't know about you but I'm not gonna let my dog be euthanized over some bastard who got what he deserved" he continued.

"Okay, okay" I said in understandment.

"So I threatened him, told him if he said the truth, either I or Finn would finish him off and he agreed to lying because he felt bad" he said in one last breath.

"Colby, I hear you" I said softly and grabbed both of his shoulders.

"But can you promise me something?" I asked and he flicked his eyes back and forth between mind before nodding.

"Promise me you'll stop the threats. We have kids that are growing up to understand more and there's 3 on the way" I said.

His face relaxed and he nodded.

"Okay. I promise I'll stop" he said.

"Now. I'm not sure how you handled that situation but if you need to go feed, go ahead" I said.

"Yeah ill uh- I'll go" he said and I let go of him, letting him walk free.

Colby's POV

She was right, and I can't fight it because I know she's right.

But now I'm walking down these stairs and Maddie and Ryker both run over and hug me.

"Hey you two" I said as I leaned down to cradle them.

"How was school?" I asked. "Good, I learned how to multiply numbers" Maddie said and I smiled.

"Well that's awesome. Why don't you go write out some numbers and solve them for me so I can see what you do?" I suggested and she nodded.

"Okay" she exclaimed.

"How about you, bud?" I asked Ryker.

"It was okay, some new girl kept looking at me funny" he said.

"Maybe she thinks you're cute... I mean you are pretty adorable" I said and he laughed.

"My teacher gave me pages to color for homework so I'll go do that" he said and I nodded as he ran off.

"I'll be back in a few" I said and Y/n nodded as she walked off with Maddie.

I slipped out the back door and walked out into the tree line, disappearing from anyone's view at the house.

Here's where I ran, but I boosted myself.

My eyes keeping a lock on everything that seemed to be alive, I couldn't spot anything.

"Really?" I asked as I stopped myself and leaned against a tree.
