VALERIE SAT ON THE EDGE OF THE WATER FOUNTAIN, her head resting in her hands tiredly. This was the longest day she'd ever had, and it was hardly over.
"Okay so just to be clear. This... this big fleshy spider thing that hurt Val, it's some kind of gigantic... weapon?" Steve asked.
"Yes." Nancy answered.
"But instead of, like, screws and metals... The mind flayer made its weapon with melted people."
"Yes, exactly."
"Yeah, okay. I—Yeah, just making sure."
"Are we sure this thing is out there, is still alive?" Joyce wondered, rubbing Valerie's arm as she leaned against her.
"Val and El beat the shit out of it but yeah, it's still alive." Max assured.
"But if we close the gate again—

Everyone turned their heads to Murray who was waving two pieces of paper in the air, walking up to them.
He slapped the papers on the surface. "Okay, this is what Alexei called the hub. Now the hub takes us to the vault room."
