(TW: mentions of miscarriage)

Serena was sitting at her vanity, staring into her mirror. It had been a month since she and Grace moved into Regina's castle and Serena was getting frustrated when Regina still refused to tell her what actually happened to Jefferson.

"Good morning, your majesty." The Genie appeared in the mirror with a soft smile. She nodded in response, staring at the wall instead of looking at him. "Is everything alright?"

"My sister tells you everything, right?" She asked, still looking at the wall as he nodded. "Where is my husband?"

"I- I don't know."

"You know everything." She snapped her head towards him. "Show me my husband, let me speak to him and don't tell Regina." He paused, but eventually nodded and disappeared, showing Jefferson instead. "Jefferson?"

He lifted his head, showing his red eyes and tear stained cheeks. "Serena? No, no, no. It's just my imagination." He looked down, picking up an unfinished hat. He also grabbed a needle and thread, struggling to sew it together.

"Jefferson, it's me. It's Serena." She said softly. "Go to the nearest mirror. I'll be there." He looked around until his eyes landed on the mirror, seeing Serena's reflection instead of his.

"Serena?" He scrambled forward, practically gripping onto the mirror. She smiled at him, giving him hope that he would be able to come home again. "How- how did you find me?"

"The magic mirror." She sighed, taking in the sight of her husband. He looked awful. He had bags under his eyes and his hair was disheveled. "Where are you? Where is Regina keeping you?"

"I'm in Wonderland." He said, guilt evident in his voice. "Regina left me here and took your father back instead. I'm trying to make another hat. I'm trying to get back to you, I promise. It's just not working. I can't get it to work."

"I knew Regina had done something." She leaned forward in her chair. "We'll be together again. Regina can't keep us apart forever. We will find each other. It might take a while, but we'll be a family again."

"I love you."

"I love you too." She chuckled as he pressed his hand against the glass. "Don't lose hope. We will be together again. Then we'll never have to see Regina again."

He nodded and sighed. "What did she tell you? Did she lie to you and Grace?"

"Yes. She said you abandoned us." She told him as his eyes widened. "I didn't tell Grace what she said. I didn't believe it. I knew she wouldn't tell me, so I asked the magic mirror. That's how I found you. She wanted me to believe that you left. I know you better than that."

"That's my girl." He smiled, genuinely for the first time since he had gotten to Wonderland. "I would never abandon you. I love you and Grace more than anything in the world. No amount of money could change that."

She gave him a soft smile before the door burst open and Jefferson disappeared from the mirror. He could still hear and see what was going on, but anyone on her side wouldn't know he was there.

"Regina, what are you doing here?" Serena asked as Regina walked into her room.

"I have something for you." She responded as Serena stood up and walked over to her. "It'll make sure you never get hurt by anyone like Jefferson again."

"What is it?"

"It's just a potion. It'll help you." Regina smiled as Serena swished the dark liquid in the glass. She reluctantly drank, feeling odd as she digested it. She fell back into the chair, her eyes widening as pain shot through her stomach.
