We're All Mad Here (Jefferson x OC)

Chapter Fifty-Three

Serena walked beside Jefferson, back to the portal where Hook was probably waiting for her. Unless he had gotten killed. She didn't mind that. It would make her feel better about leaving him in Wonderland.

She knew they still had to deal with Regina once they got back, but she didn't care. She was happy to have her husband back. No matter what, she and Jefferson would be together. As long as Regina didn't try to kill them.

Once they got to the portal, they saw Hook standing with Cora's dead body. He was surprised he had actually managed to kill her. She couldn't help but feel weird, seeing her mother after so long.

"So, you actually pulled it off." Serena said as looked at her mother. "I'm impressed."

"Didn't think you were the murderous type." Hook responded, confused by Jefferson.

"I'm not, but my mother was an evil woman." She told him. "It took a lot to become Queen of Wonderland, so she's not easy to kill."

"Who's this?" Hook gestured to Jefferson.

"My husband."

"I thought you were aware of the rules. You said that three have to come back and I don't think Regina would let me live for not bringing Cora to her."

"That's why I'm giving you a chance to survive." Serena explained with a smile. "My sister won't be too happy, so you can stay here. A new realm to adventure and you won't have to deal with Regina. How does that sound?"

"I'm not too keen on staying here." He shook his head, looking around. "I'd prefer to go back."

"Serena, take him back to the Enchanted Forest." Jefferson leaned close to Serena, whispering in her ear. "I'll be okay."

"I'm not leaving you." Tears formed in her eyes as she turned to him. "You don't deserve to be stuck here in a land where everything is trying to kill you."

"If I come back now, Regina will kill us both." He explained, using his thumb to wipe her tears. "Grace needs you. If we both die, she will be left with Regina. I promise we'll be together again. You just need to believe."

"I can't." She shook her head, closing her eyes. "I can't lose you again."

"You're not losing me again." He cooed, pulling her to his chest. "You'll never lose me. We'll be together again. Right now, you need to take care of Grace. I love you, princess."

"I love you too, Jefferson." She wrapped her arms around him as he ran his fingers through her hair.

"One day, we'll be together and Regina won't be able to get to us." He kissed the top of her head. "She'll get what she deserves and we won't have to worry about her hurting either of us." She pulled him down for a kiss, something that she had missed since he had been trapped.

Once she pulled away from him, she gave him a sad smile. "Don't forget me?"

"I could never." He smiled and kissed her forehead before letting go of her. He knew if he held onto her for much longer, he wouldn't be able to let go of her. "Go on, princess. We'll be together again."

"We should leave before the Queen starts wondering where we are." Hook cleared his throat to interrupt them. "We should leave."

"I know." Serena nodded sadly. She kissed Jefferson one more time, lingering close to him before walking over to Hook. "I love you." She mouthed to him before stepping into the portal, witnessing him slip out of her reach once again.

"I love you, princess." Jefferson muttered, watching her leave him.

Once they got back to the Enchanted Forest, Regina stood over Cora's body next to Serena and Hook. She had used magic to change Cora's dress to a glittery black dress instead and wore her usual black dress with red accents.
