Narrator's POV

In the evening, before Camila ended the night, she called Lucy. Camila told Lucy about her encounter with the wolves at South Hill. She also told Lucy about her confusion about how she could survive after falling from the cliff. She joked, saying probably the necklace had protected her. Lucy only laughed as she did not believe it, too. Camila told Lucy about her day hiking at South Hill but did not tell Lucy about her new friend, Normani.

Camila did not mention Normani for two reasons: First, she was still amazed and too excited to tell Lucy about how she met the wolves and survived. Second, she did not think Lucy would come with her to North Hill, and Lucy even would disagree with Camila hiking the North Hill. Camila would keep the story for later when she had gone to North Hill with Normani. Camila and Normani agreed to go to North Hill for the next two weekends.

Camila's plan seemed to go well because Lucy would not return in Summer. Her parents had decided to prolong their summer holiday to another city. Lucy and her parents would return when Lucy's summer holiday ended. Lucy was a bit disappointed as she could not spend her summer holiday with Camila. It was her first time to leave the city for the whole summer. Camila was disappointed, too, but she was not as disappointed as Lucy since she got a new friend who she could get along fast with and would accompany her to go to North Hill.

Camila: Hello, Normani! (Camila answered the call from Normani when she was driving, heading to North Hill)

Normani: Hi, Camila! I will be a little bit late about five or ten minutes.

Camila: Okay, no problem.

Normani: See you soon!

Camila: See you soon!

Camila arrived before Normani. When Camila was driving into the parking space, she saw a familiar black car. She drove past it without thinking much. She chose a spot at the opposite end of the only car she saw. Camila switched off the engine before she texted Normani, telling her that she had arrived. Camila rolled down the window, waiting for Normani in the car.

Camila looked in the direction of the black car when they got off the car. She was shocked when she saw who they were which made her remember where she had seen that black car. She frowned, thinking that they could not be Normani's friends who would join them for the hike. They were mean, unlike Normani who was polite and helpful. Camila looked away when the two women looked in her direction. She could only hope that they were not the two friends of Normani.

Camila texted Normani asking her if her friends had arrived. Normani did not reply to her. Camila glanced in the direction where the two women were. One was sitting on the car hood, and the other was leaning on it. Camila got nervous thinking of the possibility that they, indeed, were Normani's friends as there was nobody else there. She could not imagine that she had to hike the North Hill with them. She got more anxious when Normani did not reply to her, and the two women were looking at her constantly.

Normani finally showed up with her dark purple car. She drove and parked next to Camila. It made Camila smile when Normani waved at her. Camila got off the car when Normani arrived. They greeted each other with a warm hug.

"Hi, Camila!" Normani hugged Camila, "Thank you for waiting!"

"Yeah!" Camila smiled.  "No worries, It's only five minutes."

"Are you ready?" Normani asked Camila excitedly.

"Yeah!" Camila answered but looked less excited. She looked at the two women.
