Narrator's POV
In the headquarters, Dr. Ora Mariah, and other staff had been waiting for Lauren and her pack. They had been informed by Anna that the mission was accomplished. They successfully saved Lauren's mother and Camila. Fortunately, they did not lose anyone in the pack, but some of them were badly injured. They managed to survive because of Lauren's good strategy and Mr. Ferrer's bad strategy or rather egoistic strategy. He led the stronger ones to follow him to the woods when he found out that Lauren's pack invaded the prison. The outcome would be different if his twelve werewolves were divided into different areas.
Dr. Ora was ready with her medical team. Meanwhile, Mariah and her team had prepared meals for them. They must be exhausted and need to recharge themselves with good meals and proper rest. Lauren took her mother to the room where she had prepared for her. She got shot several times. She needed medical care, too, but she prioritized her mother and those badly injured. She was glad that everyone survived. Dinah, Normani, Anna, and Steve bled and got bruises, but they were not dying. Lauren surely had Camila's in the back of her mind, but she had to focus on those, who were in her residence.
"How is she?" Lauren asked Dr. Ora when the doctor was removing the bullets from Lauren's body.
"Her body is too weak, yet she's so strong. Others might have died if they put in her condition." Dr. Ora said. "We will know thoroughly after we get the laboratory analysis tomorrow."
"She still could rip off a head," Lauren said. She recalled how her mother ripped off one of the werewolf's head out of the blue.
"Really?" Dr. Ora was surprised.
"Yeah..." Lauren's eyes were closed, but she smiled.
"That's incredible! I am sure she would recover fast no matter what the laboratory result says." Dr. Ora was one of Lauren's trusted people. She was one of the fews who knew Lauren was looking for her mother.
Lauren's father was killed when their tiny region was attacked by a massive pack of werewolves. Their tiny village, which was calm and peaceful was razed to the ground in one full moon night, three months after Lauren was born. The only ones who survived that bloody night were Lauren's mother, baby Lauren, and one of his father's followers, who was also Clara's brother. They escaped and hid in the deep forest in the north. They lived nomadically so those who burned their village would not find them. However, those who wanted to finish them did not stop hunting for Lauren and her mother.
They crossed paths with those, who were hunting for them again when Lauren was seven years old. They found her uncle before they found her mother a week later. Her mother managed to consign Lauren to a woman she met in the woods when she was chased by those greedy werewolves. They managed to catch her mother but lost Lauren's track. They stopped searching at some point after more than a decade of hunting. Lauren lived in the wild and grew up as a strong true werewolf. She did not have any real mentor from the werewolf who could teach her how to be a werewolf, but she turned out great. It was probably in her blood in her gene that she was born a true werwolf whom many believed would command the werwolf world in the future.
Although Lauren had been separated from her mother since she was seven years old, she never forgot her mother. She believed that her mother was still alive somewhere in this world. She moved from one to another city, looking for her mother. The long journey brought her to Tróiwood where she instinctively believed that her mother was in this city. Along the journey, she met her tribe and her chosen family, who were very loyal to her, including Dinah, Normani, Anna, Mariah, and Steve. In this city, too, she eventually found her Luna later on.
