Narrator's POV
It had been three weeks. Camila was still missing. The police had not found Camila after searching for three weeks. They had done the investigation, including taking Camila's DNA sample, which would be useful if an unidentified person was found. They did not abandon this case since Camila was related to Dakota, who was their former leader of the land. They still did their job, but they were slowing down now. Dakota did not want to rely on the police. She offered Lauren's assistance for the search. Lauren agreed to team up with one condition Normani would lead the team, and they had to keep everything confidential.
On the other side, Sinu could not sleep well, thinking of her missing daughter. She did her best to run her cafe during this difficult time. Fortunately, her staff were loyal, helpful, and very understanding. They had her back when she could not focus on running her cafe. Sinu knew the situation that she could not count on the police. She also knew that Dakota and Lauren were helping her in this case. Dakota was in touch with Sinu to update Sinu if any progress. Meanwhile, Lauren had not visited Sinu yet, but Normani had.
Lauren wanted to talk to Sinu because she believed that Camila's missing was related to her. Lauren did not doubt that whoever abducted Camila must be doing it to get to her, not Camila. Their main target was not Camila but Lauren. Lauren and Dinah arrived at Camila's house on Saturday morning. Normani joined them as they arrived. Lauren wanted to meet and talk to Sinu in person instead of over the phone. She had decided it was time to talk to about Camila with Sinu.
"Good morning, Mrs. Cabello!" Lauren greeted Sinu, who just opened the door for them.
"Good morning!" Sinu looked dejected. She hardly smiled, greeting them in return. It was not that she hated them, she was just too stressed to welcome them with a warm smile.
They settled in the living room. Lauren sat across from Sinu. Dinah and Normani chose to sit aside. It was a meeting between Lauren and Sinu. Dinah and Normani had nothing to say. They were just there to support Lauren and Sinu, who needed support these days.
"Do you want something to drink?" Sinu remembered that she had not offered them something to drink.
"Don't worry about that, Ma'am!" Dinah smiled at Sinu.
"I will..." Sinu was bewildered. She wanted to go to the kitchen to get them a drink, but Dinah stopped her.
"Ma'am, If you don't mind, I will get some drinks for us." Dinah offered Sinu help.
"Alright!" Sinu sat back.
Lauren was cold, but she could feel how desperate Sinu was.
"We will find her, Ma'am!" Lauren started the conversation.
"It's been three weeks..." Sinu was holding her tears back.
"I will bring her back to you," Lauren said.
"The police can't even find her." Sinu had doubt, too, that Lauren could find Camila because it had been three weeks.
"I promise I will bring her back," Lauren said firmly.
Sinu looked at Lauren. She had no choice. She had to trust Lauren, who seemed to be her only hope. "You promise?"
"Yes." Lauren was determined.
"Even when I say my daughter is not for you," Sinu asked.
Normani looked at Lauren, who did not like what Sinu said.
"Ma'am! I will find her no matter what." Lauren would not change her mind.
