Narrator's POV
Waking up from her short nap in the late afternoon, Camila looked out of the window. She got home an hour ago when her mother was not home. She took her phone from the nightstand and read a message from her mother. Her mother would be home in an hour. They would have dinner together. Sitting on the bed, Camila looked out the window at Normani's house. She touched her neck where the invisible mark was. She tried to recall things that related to it.
Camila remembered the first and intense hickey that Lauren gave her on that spot. She recalled the sensation and the pain when Lauren was sucking her on that spot that night. She realized that Lauren always caressed and kissed her there when they kissed. She connected everything, including what Lauren and Normani told her about Luna. She wanted to ask Normani but hesitated since Normani never told her about the mark. She questioned why Lauren and Normani never mentioned anything about the mark.
Camila also did not see any good reason for Dakota or Brendon to lie to her. Brendon did not doubt that Camila had been marked. Dakota and Brendon had shared the information they knew about how the werewolf marked their mate before they boarded the flight home. Although Brendon was sure about that, he and Dakota agreed that Camila should find another source to reconfirm it. They did not ask Camila who had marked her, but they thought it was not ethical. They believed the werewolf should not have done that without Camila's consent since Camila did not belong to their group. However, they lived in this messy world where ethics was almost extinct.
Camila went to her desk where her computer was. She wanted to find more sources online while waiting for her mother to come home. After spending more than an hour searching, Camila had not found anything new. Everything she came across had been informed by Brendon and Dakota. Some of the things that Lauren or even Normani never told her. Despite whether she was destined to be Lauren's Luna or not, She had been marked and partially mated with Lauren. As a result, she and Lauren had a stronger connection, which made them able to understand or even read each other's minds naturally.
Things became clear as to why Lauren always could read her mind and even knew when she was in danger. It was beneficial when she was in danger, but it did not make Camila happy for it. Camila was anxious. She was scared. She was enraged, knowing that Lauren had secretly marked her. Camila was speechless when Brendon told her that being partially marked in the werewolf world was like being engaged to the werewolf. The mark was not deletable, but Camila felt a little relieved, knowing that she still could reject their bond as they were not fully mated yet.
"Camila!" Sinu called Camila from downstairs. "dinner is ready!"
"Yes, Mom!" Camila went downstairs. "Mrs. Vives!" Camila was shocked when she saw Lucy's mother sitting in their dining room. She had no idea that Linda would come for dinner.
"Camila." Linda smiled. "Did you enjoy the trip?"
"Yes, It was great." Camila sat across from Lucy's mother.
Although they had a light conversation during the dinner, Camila felt weird about Linda's visit. Her mother also did not tell her about it.
"Camila, you must be wondering why Linda is here," Sinu said when they were having the dessert that Linda brought.
"Yeah..." Camila looked at Linda slightly.
"I invited Linda for dinner. I need her help to check about something." Sinu said. Camila kept listening. "We're informed that you have a certain mark on your neck."
