Narrator's POV
Camila was driving into her campus parking space on Monday morning. It was not as usual she went to the campus by herself on Monday. Usually, Lucy would pick her up on Monday and Friday. The rest of the week she would go by herself. She could drive and had the fun small blue sedan that her mother bought her when she started college, but she preferred to go to the Campus with Lucy. She walked into the class while texting Lucy, telling her to meet her during the lunch break.
When it was lunchtime, Camila went to their spot to meet Lucy. As usual, Lucy had been there waiting for her. They greeted each other with a warm hug before heading to the cafeteria.
"How was the party?" Camila started their conversation.
"It was good," Lucy said as they settled at the table under the tree. It was the very beginning of spring. They wanted to enjoy it so they took the lunch outside.
"Luce?" Camila saw Lucy was subtly blushing.
"Yeah?" Lucy stopped unpacking her lunch and looked at Camila.
"What happened?" Camila was suspicious.
"Nothing." Lucy did not realize that she was blushing.
"Then... why are you blushing?" Camila got even more curious.
"Nothing." Lucy was back with her lunch, trying to avoid Camila, even though she knew she could not hide it from Camila. She smiled at Camila and took a bite of her lunch.
"Lucy Vives, are you in love?" Camila chuckled.
"..." Lucy did not answer, but she was like a deer caught in the headlights.
"You are, aren't you?" Camila asked again. Lucy did not answer, but she was blushing and smiling. "I knew it!" Camila exclaimed. "Lucy?!" Camila urged Lucy to spill the tea.
"No... I'm not. It's just..." Lucy was smiling, "a good party."
"Uh-huh..." Camila knew there was more about it. "It seems someone had a wild night!" Camila teased Lucy.
Camila knew Lucy since they started college. She knew Lucy loved the party. She also knew Lucy regularly went on casual dates, mostly for fun or sex only. Lucy was very open about it, especially with Camila. Camila knew this side of Lucy because Lucy always told her when something happened, whom she dated and had sex with. On the other hand, Camila was not a big fan of partying. She loved doing something else, like hiking, swimming, or staying home instead of going to the party. She would go if it was necessary in her opinion.
Lucy smiled like she was smitten by someone. It made Camila even more curious. "Lucy!!!" She wanted to know what made her best friend blush, which was unusual and rare.
"No." Lucy and Camila looked at each other. Camila did not want to give up. Lucy gave in. "Okay... it's a great one!"
"I understand now why you missed all my messages and class. " Camila chuckled, "It is a wild long night, isn't it?." Camila teased Lucy. Camila texted and called Lucy on Sunday morning, asking her if she wanted to join her and her mother at the farmer's market. Lucy, who always wanted to join, did not even answer Camila's messages until late afternoon.
"Yes!" Lucy admitted it.
"Spill more!!" Camila urged.
"I'll tell you next time. For now, it was the best I ever had!" Lucy repeated.
"Alright!" Camila laughed. It was enough for Camila, too. "I wish I were you," Camila said. "Always have a good one."
"Mila!!!" Lucy disagreed. "You could be if you did not ignore all those guys who were hitting on you."
